i just think our impoverished country, and majority of its citizens, impoverished or otherwise, are being taken by these cellphone makers. i should think there are better ways to spend money, specially the type that doesn’t grow on trees. thanks for pointing out that the p.i. is not the u.s. of a. who knew?

Thanks for sharing your two cents’ worth on the matter Lei. But the Philippines is not the US and vice versa. Cellphones are big business in the Philippines (or Asia, for that matter) and our impoverished country is not the texting capital of the world for nothing. So… writing for a gadgets page is still valid considering the abovestated reasons. I am glad to learn the in’s and out’s of this new “beat” and prouder still that am part of such a pioneering team.

Sorry but my state of tonto-logy had a hard time figuring out what tautology meant (thanks encarta!) hindi naman siguro redundant coz savvy is an adjective while smartphone is a noun. Correct? Hehe

hey ju! what do you not write about? i should be curious to know how you’ve evolved into a tech writer of sorts. this cellphone phenomenon back home is interesting. in the states, nobody really gives a horse’s ass. much less here in canada. my brother was here to visit recently and he gave my sister and i cellphones with a camera. imagine our joy! he gave me a motorola razr (is that how it’s spelled) and guess what, i hardly use it. these snazzy looking gadgets with superfluous features are expensive status symbols for suckers and showoffs, if you ask me. david pogue is a tech columnist for the new york times and guess how many, out of the 340 archived columns online, he’s written about cellphones? NIL.
