Midnight snackin’
Our company’s pantry is just a few steps away from my official workstation and expectedly you’d see me hopping from one point to another. We have a couple of home cooks who are always busily working in the kitchen, either chopping vegetables, spooning soups into bowls and mixing all the food. Meals are buffet-style and eat-all-you can, which explains why am having a ridiculously hard time losing weight.
On my midnight duty today, guess what I found in the kitchen? The legendary Excelente ham sandwiched between the poor man’s pan de sal and topped with generous bits of grated quezo de bola. Denizens of the city would surely know Excelente which enjoys long lines during Christmas. The cured ham taste is simply divine and I found myself munching on one slice after another. I really don’t mind working during crazy hours if you reward me with these…
