Reflecting on the year that was & the 2007 that will be…

Was 2006 a good year for you?
Yes. Am still in the same state, but it was good.

Where were you when 2006 began?
Holed up in a Quezon City hotel with my kids. I was the only one awake to watch the fireworks from the street below.

Where will you be when 2006 ends?
In a five-star hotel. Again. With my kids. But this time I’ll make sure we watch the fireworks from the rooftop.

Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions for 2006?
Looking at this list I hardly did. But because am indefatigable, I’ll try to make one again for the coming year.

What did you do in 2006 that you’ve never done before?
Embarked on my first budget trip to Kuala Lumpur. Travelled for the first time to Hong Kong. Met long-lost friends and classmates.

What was your biggest achievement of the year
Travelling till I dropped. Earning money from this blog even though it’s not much still.

What was your biggest failure?
Not being able to cook and read as much as I should have.

Did you lose someone close to you in 2006?
Yes. A dear kumpadre who died without my knowing it (because I don’t read newspaper obituaries!)

Did you fall in love in 2006?
Yes. (And because this is my blog, no follow-up questions are allowed)

Did you make any new friends in 2006?
Yes, at work and in the blog world.

What countries did you visit?
Hong Kong. Malaysia.

What are your plans for 2007?
Travel to more new and exciting places. Spend more time with my kids. Buy a good digital camera. Watch more movies. Take a class and learn something new. Work harder and be more financially stable. Decorate my own house.

Compared to this time last year, are you:
happier or sadder? happier
thinner or fatter? uhmm, next question please..
richer or poorer? richer, but only a little bit.
