Chaikofi: how much should you pay for “presentation?”
New chain chaikofi has got to have the best decorated interiors of a dining/coffee place in Manila today. Their just-opened express outlet at Robinsons Ermita stands out from the crowd because of its yellow motif and brightly-lit contemporary design. The back-to-back lounge seating evokes an American diner feel infused with the European touch (and rightly so, because one of the owners is Dutch).
If you’re looking for an alternative to good ol’ Starbucks or Figaro, this is the place to go. At least you can hang out sipping your 100 peso designer coffees while admiring the view and relishing some good company. That’s right: hang out here holding a cup of coffee for a couple of hours and get your money’s worth because everything else about Chaikofi is overpriced.

Last call for the Philippine Bloggies
Honestly, I never thought that covering the blog beat can be very overwhelming. The number of blogger meet-ups and events in the past months- both formal and informal – have been so much more than you can imagine and now, there’s the Philippine Blog Awards to round it all up.
PBA 2007 is the first venture of such kind to be organized by bloggers, for the country’s bustling community of bloggers. Although a similar search has been done before, it has not generated as much buzz as it is now. Blogging in the country is growing at a staggering speed – more people are getting into it as a creative outlet or otherwise, others are earning money from it and award-giving bodies like the PBA can contribute a lot in keeping the momentum alive.
