And so I write this post as a form of comic relief.
Thought about this while observing my blogger-friends and their non-blogging partners. I really should write an article soon about couples and how blogging figures in their relationship. Knowing how time-consuming and engaging blogging can be, have you ever wondered what happens between them when she’s blogging and he’d rather watch sports on TV? She’s so glued to the computer that she can’t even hear him say †let’s go to bed now, honey†or “honey! the food is burning!” Most likely,finishing a blog post takes precedence over everything else.
Most of the friends I know seems to be blessed with gracious, kind husbands who willingly accommodate their blogging fixation. Ms. T, for example, would meet us in the mall in an EB while her husband windowshops, waiting for her to finish. J and M first met in an online group and he doesn’t at all mind her vivid online confessions which happened back when she was still single. And the last time I talked to G, I learned that her husband is already blogging too. I immediately summoned the mental image of both of them positioned back-to-back, both facing their laptops.
(As for me, I cannot yet imagine dating a blogger, unless of course everyone turns out to be one. Am already suffering from blogging overload as it is. I need someone who will dine with me, or discuss with moi the merits of a book or movie without thinking…” do you think we should blog about this?”
Of course, it can also be quite irritating with a non-blogger date who will utter “I read in your blog that….” But that’s another story.)
So here, my own take on the Pro’s and Con’s of Dating a Blogger/ Having a Blogger as a Significant Other. Do feel free to add your anecdotes and ideas 
PRO’s
It’s only You, The Blog, The Computer & no other
Suddenly, you’re travelling, watching movies and eating out more - just because of The Blog
Your blogging partner has become tech-savvy (and you think you can also benefit from it)
He/she has a new-found interest in photography, and you’re often made “The Model”
So what if your S.O. didn’t make it way past the High School Glee Club? People now recognize him/her just because of The Blog
Your absentee relatives and missing classmates in California are emailing/ calling the apartment you share together, asking for “more updates”
Those random pictures of you posted on the blogging partner’s website are beginning to look very cute. You now actually feel as big as Donald or Hillary.
You are going on a cruise/ honeymoon to Singapore, thanks to the extra moolah/ dollar checks that blogging bought
You expand your social network to include his/her blogger-friends (they’re not as geeky as you think)
She’s no longer nagging you or getting jealous of that sexy oficemate. She’d rather blog.
CON’s
It’s only You, The Blog & The Computer… and most especially The Blog & The Computer
She’s blogging away when you’d rather…. bang her
Your partner now talks about meta tags and CSS, even in his/her dreams
Sometimes all you talk about are blogs (and bloggers)
She never stops taking pictures of the food and the resto, even when you’re dying to eat your meal or announce to her your office promotion
When you break up, she could tell the whole world about it, especially if it’s a bad one

my husband is very accomodating of my blogging, so long that i don’t give out personal information as he is afraid that it may hurt me someday. he actually helps me take pictures of what he thinks a good blogging material. he would say, “honey, honey, i have a good blog entry for you.”
hehe a few days ago, my husband and I had an argument which intensified after a few minutes. I was so mad when he added “Ooo you wanna blog about this, go ahead. Blog about it.” Imagine bringing up blogging in our argument. Ayayay, the hazards of being a blogger talaga.
hi Ajay, i got here from PMN. as I was reading through this post, i’m simply nodding, short of saying I definitely agree with the Pros and Cons.
my husband is not a blogger, not even a techie. he’s got technophobia daw, so even the simplest sending of his emails, i sometimes do for him. he was surprised at one time he discovered i was blogging and story telling about our family life. simula noon, medyo nag-behave na sya, na-conscious yata na I’ll blog something when’s he’s not behaving well.
but seriously, my husband knew me better because of what I wrote. sometimes, even when your always together, there are some things we fail to talk about. and blogging just eased the communication gap.

I can just imagine Noemi. That’s so characteristic of men, bringing something surprising up in the middle of an argument. It must be quite hard for him to have a well-read famous blogger for a wifey (though I read Warrior Lawyer na rin, haha)

I am a blogger. Isa din akong active member sa isang Filipino Forum and soon became a Moderator. My husband isn’t. Pero he’s a computer addict too, downloading softwares and other multimedia stuff. Nung meron pa kaming inet sa bahay, he would always give in and wait for his turn kung kelan ako mapagod hahaha! And hindi sya KJ. Siguro dahil sa open ako sa kanya sa mga nakakausap ko. He knows them. Sometimes he would wave at them when we are in a conference chat/cam.
Siguro, kahit hindi bloggers pareho, basta andun ang openness, understanding and “trust” na hanggang ganyan lang, walang magiging problema.

LOL at the list! My husband has a blog but never updates it. He’s fine with my blogging personal stories, as long as embarrassing pictures never find their way to the internet
he’s very techie so he’s actually encouraging me to setup a blog on his under-utilized server and play around with it but I’m much too lazy and would rather stick with my tried-and-trusted LJ.

lol. I really liked the part when instead of blogging, you could just *ehem* her.
Still, blogging should never hinder a relationship. If both parties are into blogging, they must still have time for each other. Otherwise, break the relationship and focus on blogging.
