LiveBlogging with Carl Ocab: “How To Make Money Online with a 14-Year Old”

Carl Ocab has been in the news lately due to questions of his ‘authenticity.’ Is he the one behind the successful money-making blog or is he not?

As a blog columnist, it seemed fair enough to test his blogging skills in action, something which he happily obliged at an internet cafe somewhere in Glorietta 3.

I have to admit I had BIG doubts about the KidBlogger prior to meeting him. He turned out to be super-shy in person… a man of few words, but not in the written word. He said he doesn’t mind the suspicions and speculations at all since it only gives more “buzz” to his blog. Oh…. spoken like a true internet marketer!

Following are excerpts of the liveblogging:

How To Make Money Online the Quick and Easy Way:

Sell Emails

Try to do a quick search for “web design Las Vegas” in Google (This might not work on some countries because all ads are geographically targeted, so I would suggest using a proxy).

Did you know that the top 1-3 ads under “Sponsored Links” are paying roughly $6 per click?! It means those companies are very serious and means business, but what if you can provide a solution to them that is much cheaper and much much more effective?

A possible sale eh? Yes, there was a time when one of my friends shared his experience regarding this. All he did was gather 100 targeted emails, contact the design company, did some sales talk and got a quick $200.

But how did he gather 100 targeted emails in less than a day?

The ultimate answer to this is forums. Yes, forums are mostly high traffic due to that fact that everyone can discuss almost anything they want.

So what did he do? First, he sign-upped for an autoresponder (try Getresponse or Aweber but if you want to pay a cheap $20 per month there’s always free services out there) Then he set-upped a campaign, load it up with free ebooks or whatsoever that he want to giveaway. Built a splash page to put the email form, post the giveaway in forums.

Poof! Instant sign-ups.

You be the judge!

    17. I came to know Carl Ocab through Rob Benwell’s product Blogging to the Bank. I was intrigued by one testimonial, a 13 year old blogger and when I searched for his site, I found he is Pinoy!

Well, I’ve been a follower since then. That was 4 months ago when I started this blog!

Mabuhay ka Carl! Hope to meet you someday!
