Hi Chit. I laughed at your story about your husband thinking that Chickenjoy is like chicken nuggets, hehehe.

Yeah, it seems almost all of us has a fond memory with this fastfood chain.It’s almost a part of being Filipino. There will never be anything like it in taste kasi Pinoy taste sya. And oh, btw they just opened in Riyadh. Since expanding internationally, probably wouldn’t hurt to buy their stocks

I miss Jollibee so much thus whenever my brother pick me up at the NAIA ( forget the 14 or 17 hours long tiring flight ) the first food I eat is Jollibee, before heading home to Pampanga.
I even convinced hubby that we drive extra to Daly City on our last day in San Francisco just because I learned from our hotel (Filipino receptionist ) about having a Jollibee there. Hubby cannot help but tease me about having to eat Chicken Joy and Palabok in the US considering I was just in the RP 7 weeks before.
By the way, 19 years ago there was the story about Hubby´s first Jollibee experienced. After a late breakfast from his hotel, He walked for a sightseeing all the way from CCP to Rizal Park, it was arranged that we meet after my work(office hour) and have a cruise along Manila Bay. After 3 PM He decided to have a snacks and landed somewhere in Jollibee. He was not very hungry but very thirsty. He ordered 7 pieces of chicken joy, french fries mango pie and of course big drinks. Although the chicken joy were very tasty, He did not managed to eat all 7 pieces of course. He thought the 7 pieces chicken joy were similar to Mac Donald chicken nuggets. LOL
Here in Europe, I have to content myself with KFC which is totally different in taste.
So after reading your blog sulit pala ang loyalty ko sa Jollibee.
It might worth for me to consider buying their stocks.

Hi Elsa. That also happened to me. My picky son eats nothing but chicken (ok, pork bbq is an exception) and one day, he grew some sort of allergies. So stop muna ang chicken.But now he’s back at it again. His favorite is McDonalds Crispy Chicken Fillet, and eats it whenever I find the time to buy the kids pasalubong.

Kids will always love fried chicken , I suppose. Even adults like us love it. Classic comfort food!

my mistake: it was October 2008 when we started the daily Jollibee visits. And since it’s vacation time, pahinga muna sa chickenjoy, ha-ha

since october 2007 my daughter has been eating chickenjoy almost everyday (at least 3 to 4 times during weekdays) before we go home from school! Just two weeks ago, she was diagnosed with mild asthma because of the erratic climate and chicken is one of the foods her pedia told her to avoid. But since fasting on chicken cannot really be done, her doctor allowed her once in a while but minus that crispy delicious skin. So my girl and i ended in a compromise: after school, she gets to eat chicken again and i feast on the skin (how can you avoid that temptation huh?)

I say it’s worth every peso I spent on a chicken value meal daily. My daughter got the First Honor award when she graduated from Kinder yesterday aside from being a Bronze medalist in the spelling contest last month. Is it because of the chicken? Partly yes due to the fact that she always looks forward to our afternoon Jollibee snack which she considers as a prize for being good at school, he-he.

And another thing, it makes me happy to note that many kids who are in the same age as my girl will also gain from the good old fast food chicken.
