L’Entrecote for dinner, one Saturday …..

July 20, 2011 by ajay

After feasting on a P580 set lunch at Le Bistro d’Agathe, the next one was even better: it was a P595 set dinner at L’Entrecote in the Fort. It came complete with a topnotch steak, salad, dessert and a glass of wine!

You might ask: how is that possible? I say, blame it on those pesky groupon deals.Am fairly new to the groupon game but I couldn’t resist snapping up this offer from pakyaw.com.ph a month or two ago. It was 50% off from the usual price :D

L' Entrecote the Fort

As expected, the star of the night was the resto’s US Prime Choice L’EntrecĂ´te Steak Topped with the Special, Secret Herb Sauce. I normally don’t like drowning my grilled meat in sauce but I absolutely liked this steak! Cooked to medium, it was tender, juicy, flavorful and all that I dream a steak would be (coz I don’t often eat one).

the much-heralded secret sauce was good. It was essentially herbs + butter. A positive thing: the meat stood out on its own even with the embellishment of the sauce – a trademark of a good steak.

pommes frites

If you’re a potato lover, fries come in unlimited quantities in this resto. Hubby didn’t like how they were thinly cut but I have certainly no complaints about them being served hot and crisp.Munching on the fries is obviously not advisable if you’re weight-watching since potato plus house bread and all the butter equals calories, whether we like it or not!

Seems the house salad with dressing and walnuts was the healthiest part of the meal.I really don’t like vinaigrette in my salad (especially when the vinegar flavor is a bit strong), but I certainly finished the veggies on my plate, as if imagining that my mom was in front of me telling me to finish those greens! :D

The dessert of raspberry iced vacherin cake sounds rather fancy but it’s really nothing more than a fitting end to our divine meal…. the steak, most especially!

L'Entrecote the Fort

Overall, I liked the resto’s ambiance, especially the colorful paintings on the wall. It is small and cozy enough for intimate lunches or dinners.
