WesternUnion World is a cool app developed for Facebook by Western Union to show how globally networked an individual is. I tried the application right on Facebook and my results showed that I have friends in 36 countries with a rank of 380th most networked person in the Philippines. Yay! Here’s the screenshot:
If you try out the app, am sure you’ll have much fun as I did. This time around, am throwing in the extra bonus of letting a lucky reader win P2,000 in SM gift certificates just by trying out westernunionworld.com/yourworld

To celebrate its 160th anniversary, the Western Union is calling for the Philippines’ most globally connected individuals to step forward and take the Western Union Network Challenge at www.westernunionworld.com/yourworld.
The online application visualizes Facebook fans’ global connections and users receive a score (“World Index”) that shows how globally connected they are. They can compare their ranking against their Facebook friends, against others in their country and against others in the world.
Each individual’s score will also contribute to the score of the respective country of residence which will provide the ranking of the most geographically connected nations. The Philippines also has the opportunity to prove to be the most geographically connected nation in the world.
To see your global connections and campaign for Team Philippines as the most geographically connected nation in the world, go to www.westernunionworld.com/yourworld and type in your Facebook login details.
