First of all, I was curious to know what Magnum was. The last time we heard, a gun and (ehrmmm…) large-sized condoms were also called Magnum. I didn’t know how hugely popular Magnum ice cream was in other countries. Hubby said he ate it in Iraq, and so did Doc Gelo in Malaysia and Raquel in Germany.

To make a long story short, Magnum the ice cream is here… brought to us by the kind folks of Unilever Philippines. can’t tell you how HOOKED I was when I first bit into its crunchy outer topping made of the finest Belgian chocolate and then drowned in the silky, creamy goodness of its vanilla layer. Heaven in every bite for a suggested retail price of only P50.

Available flavors are Classic, Chocolate Truffles and Almond. Everything’s good but my heart is torn between the truffles and almond. The former tastes luxurious and chocolatey while the latter has a flavor I also can’t resist. No doubt about it: Magnum is my latest indulgence. Good thing it’s so affordable too šŸ™‚

Actress Rachel Bilson is the global ambassador for Magnum ice cream, and here in the Philippines, it’s the lovely Solenn Heusaff (shown here with much-slimmer Richard Raymond Gutierrez).

I was certainly glad to witness Magnum being introduced in the Philippines, mostly because we had a Magnum-all-you-can eatfest šŸ™‚ After this, it’s time to head to 7-11 where it was sold for P60 when I last checked. There’s no doubt this ice cream will be a hit among the masses, especially now that the first trace of summer is here. One Magnum is simply not enough!

    Finally released it here. It was my favorite ice cream when i was living in Aus. When i moved to PH no ice cream matched it. Eating it was so nostalgic ^_^ 60P is a lot cheaper than we payed for in aus.

    Thank God that they brought Magnun in PHL shores….I reaaaly adore the Chocolate Truffle and Classic flavors.. It’s 50-60 petot because first it’s Imported, second its choco coating is made of Belgian chocolate that’s why it’s kinda expensive. I just hope that they can also bring Dark variant here….@_@

    Have you tried Haggen Daz??? How much does it cost?
    Delicious ice cream is very expensive.. Now, 6o pesos is way too cheap for a delicious ice cream..

    Overrated and Overpriced! I have tried better than Magnum. If you want a true ice cream, buy Haagen Dazs! Magnum just became popular because of everybody’s curiosity! MAINSTREAM!!!
