Even though the issue has died down already, I promised to give my own take on the Bryanboy exposé which came out in Rogue magazine.I admit I was shocked when I read all the details but I found the Rogue article not exhaustive enough. The narrations from several people interviewed seemed to imply that Bryanboy's credit card usage was questionable. Things were suspect because how could it have funded his lavish lifestyle when his family was, at best, average middle class? However, I believe this kind of insinuation won't really hold in court. (besides, we're much better ... Continue Reading...

Betrayal, buying binges & Bryanboy
Am sure you've already heard about it. Rogue Magazine has an "explosive exposé" (explosé?) on Bryanboy in its September issue. The magazine's circulation was elusive as usual so I nudged the hubby to buy an issue for me online. It was at about lunch time last Sunday and I couldn't figure out which was more juicy: the stuff I was reading or the Italian sausage I was munching. Then my fork fell. Healthy treats at Oat Square Tomas Morato
During one of those rare times when am in faraway Quezon City, media colleague Jerry Liao proudly showed me the entrepreneurship project of his three kids CJ, Jam and Jaya. They've opened a stall named Oat Square in Tomas Morato which focuses on delicious oat-based drinks and food products. I immediately liked the logo. The first thing that crossed my mind was: glad it's not another milk tea joint! I like the whole concept of focusing on oats since as the owners say, oats are proven to prevent diabetes, high blood pressure and the build-up of cholesterol. Not to ... Continue Reading...
Village Tavern at BHS Central : thumbs up!
Village Tavern is the latest resto of the Bistro Group which is most famous for their Italianni's and Friday's. Since they serve American cuisine, expect hefty servings. Price is at an average of P500 per dish (or $10) but the portions satisfy and the food is good which is why we give it a thumbs up! The Maryland Crab Cakes (P495) are the best in town. This verdict is from my dinner seatmate Adrian Cuenca who lords the kitchen at Elbert's, one of Manila's finest steak houses. You can tell the resto didn't scrimp on the crab meat which is good news for those who ... Continue Reading...
