In HK: the giant rubber duck
Art Basel 2013 was the "it" event in Hong Kong last week but the majority remained crazy about the giant rubber duck that's been positioned in Victoria Harbor since May 2. It's a nicely-decorated diner with touches of Americana and big Western-style servings. Expect that you won't get bored with the menu because the kitchen always adds a twist to ordinary favorites. Here are some photos of the delish food I've eaten in Mr. Jones through the years: Over breakfast recently, I waved the calorie fears away ... Continue Reading...
‘Salaminkera’ by Giselle Sanchez on June 8
Mirrors remind me of Boy Abunda but no, it's actually the irrepressible comedienne Giselle Sanchez who is the sole lead in the upcoming "Salaminkera," a one-act play about an enjoyable magic mirror ride which takes everyone to an inside look at the world of Filipinas. With insights coming from Giselle’s personal experiences as a woman herself, expect jokes and laughter to also contain bits of wisdom that will tickle both the funny bone and the mind. The play is coined after the term “salamangkero,” a Filipino word for magician or wizard. Salaminkera is inspired ... Continue Reading...
