Dessert p0rn at the 1st Pleasure Store of #MagnumManila

Mark your calendars: it’s less than 7 days to go before the first Magnum Pleasure Store opens in Manila. April 8, to be exact!

Was fortunate to sample their goodies last week and I highly recommend! The pop-up store’s location at SM Aura’s SkyPark Dining looks really posh but Make Your Own Magnum is a real treat. For only 100 pesos, you get to dip your Magnum bar in your choice of chocolate coating then choose three from 18 tempting toppings, which range from crushed chocolate chip cookies to freeze-dried raspberries.

I had two Magnum bars and it was an altogether different experience tasting this ice cream with the toppings. The combination of potato chips, quezo de bola shavings and sea salt flakes was really yummy. For my second helping, I was feeling adventurous with the choice of grape Nerds, potato chips & chili flakes. It was spicy all right, and I choked a bit from the spice…but hey, it’s still a must-try! ;)

Make Your Own Magnum

The dessert a la carte menu masterminded by Chef Miko Aspiras is exceptional. Death by Chocolate is a chocolate lava cake topped with Chocolate Truffle Magnum, brownie pieces and round choco nuggets. A real indulgence to share with family and friends for only P250.

If the desserts are ALL good, the savories are a must-try too. They were conceptualized in collaboration with Chef Him Uy De Baron.

Loved the freshness, the juicy seared beef and the sweet-tangy dressing of the Asian Steak salad. Price to be announced but one serving is generous enough to share.

Expect lines to be long on opening week. (especially as we heard that the first 500 customers on opening day will get a free Make Your Own Magnum bar!)
