And our potato adventure continues. One of our stops was Anzani restaurant, perched atop Nivel Hills for dinner. It was a good thing that we dropped by here at night since the place is really elegant and romantic. You can stay indoors.... ..... or outdoors! This VIP room has a separate enclosure for more intimate functions. The underground wine cellar in this sprawling resto was a nice touch. I simply had to have a photo with Sophia Loren above me :) The man behind the resto is Chef Marco Anzani who has worked with Alain Ducasse and has ... Continue Reading...

Circa 1900 restaurant in Cebu #USPotatoSafari
Last week, I flew to the island city of Cebu to join the friendly folks of the US Potato Board in their event called the USPB Potato Safari. They're marketing US potatoes in the Philippine market (for good reason!) and the idea is to have chefs in the city's top restaurants experiment with various potato-based dishes for everyone to enjoy. Making an impression was Circa 1900 which is a former colonial house restored into a sprawling resto serving Asian fusion dishes . It was refreshing to see all the expanse and the trees. It reminded me of my childhood in the ... Continue Reading...
Dinner with bestie at Chef Jessie Rockwell Club + winners!
It's almost Thanksgiving and I want to tell the world about this close friend of mine who I've known for more than 20 years. We're godmother to each other's kids, I introduced her to the man who would be her husband (toinks!) .... she knows my deepest secrets, helped me through the hard times (to the tune of 'pay when able', haha), even lived with her family after college. If I'm ever wanted in history for some kind of infamy, the FBI and the paparazzi should know who to look for. She'd know all the answers :) Cecil is more than family to me and she's leaving for ... A Toothless #MerrySM Christmas at SM BF Parañaque
2014 was the year of the box office success of How to Train Your Dragon 2. And our friendly neighborhood mall in the South, SM City BF Parañaque, continues the tradition by reenacting the Viking village of Berk for its holiday theme. Shoppers, and most especially the kids, can play with Toothless or have photo ops in the magical Viking ship. We were there during the opening where Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivares and top officials lit up the giant 24-feet Christmas tree which now adorns the lobby. I even posed with these young guys in their full Viking ... Continue Reading...
Puzzles Board Games Lounge in BF Homes Parañaque City
Board games are alive! It's been ages since the family played chess and Monopoly, and my favorite Scrabble. As a mom, I should be ashamed for not weaning my kids away from the iPad and all those computer games. There's really nothing like the board games to promote interaction, live excitement, strategy, logical reasoning and all the good stuff. Gladly, there's now an exclusive Board Game Lounge near where we live in the South and it's aptly called Puzzles. My lovely niece Arisa introduced me to this place because her bf, Roby, is one of the owners (they're all ... Continue Reading...
