I was up as early as past 4am today for Color Manila Run 2016, otherwise known as Watsons Color Manila Challenge 2016. I chose one winner for our recent IG giveaway and I didn’t want to be late in giving her the race kit. It’s my first time to join the Color Manila Run and I didn’t know what to expect. Who would think it’s one of the most fun and unique running events ever!
Good thing we took a selfie before gun start as we didn’t know we would be covered in colored powder later. Am thankful to look fresh at 6am with little sleep, thanks to Restylane and our beauty doctor Sidney Cu, hehe.
The Watsons Color Manila Challenge was held at the Mall of Asia grounds and it’s quite scenic to be running with the giant ferris wheel as a background….
But on the first kilometer, this fire truck was splashing water on the runners which made everybody shriek and run for cover, lol.
Since am a first timer to Color Manila, I didn’t know there would be obstacle challenges along the way. But all these added to the fun factor of the run.
There was even a jolly marching band along the way…
I really don’t know how to react to the color packets thrown at us. It was quite messy and all my things were covered with powder … even my phone wasn’t spared so it was quite hard taking pictures.Even now that am home and have taken a shower, I still have the colors on my forehead, lol. But everyone else didn’t seem to mind. It added to the thrill and the Instagrammable appeal of the activity 🙂
Here’s Team Pink. I really dig the colors and the design of the tank tops. Plus the kit came with shades of your color choice and a head wear which you can use in various ways. The P950 entry fee is so worth it.
Plus, we all got finisher’s medals….whether one ran 3k, 5k or 10k. Nice!
The entertainment program was graced by the presence of celebrities like Yassi Pressman, Karylle and Dominic Roque. A number of prizes, including GoPros, were awarded to lucky guests.
Am a full-fledged Sun Warrior. Thank you Watsons and Spark It for letting me join Color Manila Run 2016. By the way, love the shades 😉
