I enjoyed the Hong Kong Flower Show 2013 and it was a lucky coincidence that I am in HK again for the flower show's 2016 edition! Even better: the family was billeted in Causeway Bay which was just a short walk away from the show's venue in Victoria Park. Entrance to the HK Flower Show is HKD$14 while for kids it's only $7. The event is organized annually by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong and if you want to see this next year, make sure you are in the territory by second week of March. For 2016, the show runs until March 20. Can't ... Continue Reading...

Kapampangan adobo recipe from Chef Gene Gonzalez
Here's a belated post on the cooking demo conducted by noted chef and author Gene Gonzalez at The Maya Kitchen last February (announcement in this post). Even though am from the Visayas, Pampanga is one region whose cuisine I admire and I will not hesitate gaining a few pounds just feasting on their rich, tasty food. Anyway, adobo is the Philippines' national dish and there are hundreds of variations in these 7,107 islands, depending on where you come from. Chef Gene shared this Kapampangan recipe of adobo which is notable for not using soy sauce. It gets its deep ... Continue Reading...
Hennessy King of the Road’s truly Pinoy party!
The unveiling of Hennessy's King of the Road was one truly enjoyable party we attended last week. It had the right mix of food, drinks, people, music and even art. The King of the Road is none other than the iconic Filipino jeepney which zoom-zoomed right there in the event venue of the Shooting Gallery Yellow Studio in Makati. It's done in the classy Hennessy way of sleek matte black exteriors and gold details.... definitely not your ordinary jeepney. According to the Hennessy people, the King of the Road is a series of events that will celebrate Manila's ... Continue Reading...
Color Manila Run 2016 photos
I was up as early as past 4am today for Color Manila Run 2016, otherwise known as Watsons Color Manila Challenge 2016. I chose one winner for our recent IG giveaway and I didn't want to be late in giving her the race kit. It's my first time to join the Color Manila Run and I didn't know what to expect. Who would think it's one of the most fun and unique running events ever! Good thing we took a selfie before gun start as we didn't know we would be covered in colored powder later. Am thankful to look fresh at 6am with little sleep, thanks to Restylane and our beauty ... Continue Reading...
Temple of Leah in Cebu
Temple of Leah is a nice pitstop to make on the hills of Cebu City. You can easily go here before or after seeing Tops Lookout and the Taoist Temple. The Temple of Leah was a must-see since it's one of Cebu's newer attractions. It reminds one of the Acropolis in Greece but the story is more of the Taj Mahal in India :) The temple is the architectural tribute of businessman Teodorico Adarna to his wife Leah who died on January 4, 2010 at the age of 69. Guests can see the family lineage in this marker on the wall. One of Teodorico's grandchildren is the model ... Continue Reading...
