Did you know there’s a Wine Museum in Manila? A bit far out of the way, but near EDSA, the Domestic Airport and Terminal 3. I’ve always relished going to this place because aside from being a Wine Museum (hotel and restaurant!), they serve very good Spanish food. Paella, lengua and of course tapas that go with one’s favorite vino.

I was recently invited to their Wine Wednesdays and there was certainly a lot of booze to be consumed for everyone (while observing Drink Moderately, of course!) Camus VSOP, Hennessy
Bloggers had a choice among Camus VSOP, Hennessy XO, Glenmorangie 10YO, Patron Tequila Silver, Alfonso Light, Johnnie Walker Red and Johnnie Walker Black, Montes Cab Sauv, Montes Chardonnay, Montgras Reserva Carmenere, Yalumba Y Series Chardonnay, Gossips Moscato Sweet Lips, Guntrum Riesling, Stolichnaya Red,and a few more.

Since I was driving that night, I stuck to having a glass of healthy red wine and took a sip of this awesome drink concocted by Diageo Reserve Brand Ambassador Rian Assidao.

On the left is the Strawberry and Dill Smash Cocktails and beside it is the Best Actor Sour. It’s a divine mix of Johnnie Walker Black Label, lemon, salted caramel syrup, angostura, egg white and caramel popcorn. It’s my first time to take a cocktail with popcorn and I actually loved it, lol.

Wine Museum is owned by the Philippine Wine Merchants (PWM) which is one of the biggest wine importers and distributors in the country. It was founded in 1975 by Ralph Lim Joseph and together with his three brothers- Robert, Ronnie, and Raymond, they’ve built it into the established company it is today.

PWM recently spearheaded the holding of the 16th Grand Wine Experience at The Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel Resorts World Manila. It was certainly one of the biggest events for spirits experts and wine aficionados with over 500 varieties of drinks to choose from, not to mention a lavish buffet that also delighted the epicureans.

There were also masterclasses conducted by experts in the field such as Adam Knox (The Dalmore Resident Whisky Expert), Maurizio Bertacchini (Gruppo Italiano Vini Brand Ambassador), Mark Ramm (Export Manager), Christian Correa (Winemaker: Montgras Intriga), Sofia Kitouni (Asia Marketing Manager, Quinta de Maipo Brands), and Eduardo Stark (Export Manager, Montes).
