YOLO (You Only Live Once) and FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) are acronyms often associated with today’s millennials and Gen Y. For good reason. They like to live it up, savoring experiences and seeing the world as much as they can because indeed, we only live once.
But God only knows the Fear of Missing Out can only be sustained if you pair it with the Fear of Going Broke. Our desire for the good things and location-independent freedom should also be coupled with financial responsibility. And this is me – older and wiser who’s been there and done that – talking to you millennials, hehe.
It was a good thing FWD Life insurance company – in collaboration with the popular writing platform Wattpad – came up with three books by young Filipino authors that would teach millennials how to succeed financially in life.
These books are BTW, It’s Love!, Detour, and My Fangirl Dream which are now part of FWD Life’s Piso Tales campaign.
Roche Vandenberghe, FWD Life Philippines’ Head of Marketing, noted: “We clearly recognize the potential of the country’s millennial market and, through this advocacy, we are reaching out to a huge segment that has been, thus far, quite underserved in terms of financial education. Our partnership with Wattpad is premised on the idea that financial literacy need not be boring. And the Piso Tales campaign is entirely aligned with our vision to change the way people feel about insurance.”
Wattpad has a total monthly audience of 6 million. Filipinos spend 500 million minutes engaged in its heartwarming stories. The books can be downloaded via the official Wattpad app in iOS and the Google Play store.
