I’ve written before about the Promil I-Shine Talent Camp and guess what? 12 children have already been chosen in a nationwide talent search and are now being showcased in the Promil Pre-School i-Shine Talent Camp TV, airing Sundays starting June 12 on GMA network after Showbiz Central.

  2. Judy Ann Santos & Ryan Agoncillo’s hush-hush & low-key Batangas wedding

    April 28, 2009 by ajay

The Inquirer’s breaking news as of 9:35 a.m. today: Juday and Ryan Agoncillo say ‘I do’ today – no other details given.

Abs-cbnnews.com also put it as happening “somewhere in Luzon.”

It was a wedding that was kept under wraps up to the last hour, and known only to their closest family and friends. They were celebrities, but looks like they succeeded in making their wedding a very solemn, touching affair. As of early morning today, young superstar Judy Ann Santos married her sweetheart of four years Ryan Agoncillo in a private, out-of-town ceremony – somewhere in Batangas province to be exact.

Although the “unimpeachable sources” of Inquirer showbiz columnist Dolly Ann Carvajal says the wedding will take place May 2 in Tagaytay, our own sources said the wedding already took place today in a church in Laiya in the beach town of San Juan, Batangas. And the guest list was kept to less than 100.

Some important details: Judy Ann wore a Paul Cabral gown and megastar actress Sharon Cuneta was reported to be the matron of honor (or at least an important part of the entourage). Reception was breakfast, not lunch.D

  3. FLOW, now showing at the PAGCOR Grand Theater

    March 23, 2009 by ajay

Am glad there are one-of-kind, wholesome shows in Manila which we can proudly tell our visiting friends to see, apart from the usual walk to Intramuros and the Manila Bay sunset.

This is what happened when I brought my balikbayan mom to see Wanders at the PAGCOR Grand Theater in Paranaque last year. Heard nothing but “ooh’s and aah’s” from her and the whole brood; same with my American mother-in-law who was duly impressed and said it’s one of the best shows she’s seen.

You see, a “tourist attraction” need not only be a place, it can also be a spectacle, a musical experience or an entertainment treat. I liked Wanders because it’s global in scope (read: it did not limit itself to local talents.) Having an international flavor is the reason why places like Las Vegas, New York and Paris are a hit with people from all over the world.

Now, PAGCOR and the same geniuses behind Wanders have come up with FLOW, another musical extravaganza to behold. We watched it a few weeks ago and couldn’t have enough of the sequences, acrobatics , dances and music performed by the international cast of Chinese, Cubans and Filipinos.

    Flow

The brilliant young acrobats from Henan, China are at it again! I was floored by the part where one girl operates the bike and 11 other girls ride with her. How did that happen? hehe.
