  1. Mo Twister video on Rhian Ramos abortion scandal goes viral …. but what was he thinking?

    December 3, 2011 by ajay

Less than a week after the KC Piolo break up comes now the latest controversy of an alleged leaked video of DJ/host Mo Twister lamenting the loss of his child with GMA network star Rhian Ramos due to ‘abortion.’ Frankly, I couldn’t help but ask ‘what was he thinking?’ Maybe there’s really no greater fury than a man scorned but it seems all of DJ Mo’s moves ever since their oh-so-public break up on Twitter have been orchestrated and really means to destroy her.

Meanwhile, here’s the latest on the DJ Mo Twister & Rhian Ramos scandal uploaded on December 20. Though both of them are fully-clothed, the video shows them in one of their more intimate moments.

Here’s the timeline of DJ Mo and Rhian’s roller coaster breakup:

    1. In May 2011, the public was unaware that they had a relationship but everyone woke up to it suddenly because of their not-so-private jabs to each other on Twitter.

Rhian Ramos (@whianwamos) tweeted: “Exactly 1 yr of being together, we have broken up. Thank you for loving me. It had amazing moments and am sorry for all the times I hurt you.”

Mo’s twitter @djmotwister mysteriously said: “i would never wish upon any of you the sacrifice ive had to make. and even after it, its mocked by those who benefited from it. #truthoneday”

” and it will come. the ghosts of those lost will find a way. all the lies and deceit isn’t enough of a shield. #truthoneday”

And then Rhian was angry because she found out somebody broke into her Twitter account. “well thank you for breaking into my twitter. nice job. i hope you get all the sympathy you hoped for.

and to the the rest of you, mind your business, I’ve been harassed enough for today, thank you. As if I would really publicize my personal life? As if I’m the one that is known to want to be a part of every scandal?”

  2. David Beckham & LA Galaxy teammates in Manila

    December 2, 2011 by ajay

    David Beckham in Manila

My friend Raoul E. took this photo of soccer star David Beckham at the NAIA yesterday. As expected, he looked so fit and handsome although it wasn’t clear how he took to walking in one of the world’s worst airports :) Reports said Beckham and his teammates from Los Angeles Galaxy who arrived in a chartered flight were extended the usual courtesies accorded to VIP guests by NAIA management. However, some members of the team proved to be a bit too brash and were made to wait in their bus while being cleared through immigration. Afterwards, they were promptly driven to the Makati Shang-ri La Hotel which is presumed to be their residence for the next few days.

Beckham, together with his fellow players from LA Galaxy Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan, will play in a goodwill match with the Philippine Azkals at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex tomorrow, Dec. 3. There will also be a practice scheduled at 1:30 p.m. today and a football clinic but it’s not sure if the heavily-guarded Beckham, one of the richest athletes in the world, will participate.

  3. Was Mark Bautista behind the KC Concepcion – Piolo Pascual break up?

    November 29, 2011 by ajay

Am not usually into showbiz if not for this KC Piolo break up thing which is too juicy to be ignored. I actually had to check out Mark Bautista who is being mentioned (fairly or unfairly) as the third party behind the break up.Aside from being an actor and a singer, you’ve probably seen him in those posters of Mang Inasal. And yes, he’s labelled one of Piolo’s “trusted friends.” Although I still have to see him in person, I have to say from the pictures that he looks so manly and oozes with sex appeal :)

This photo from the Mark Bautista Facebook page:

  4. KC Piolo break up : transcript of that interview with the Buzz!

    November 28, 2011 by ajay

Truth to tell, I wasn’t able to watch the Buzz yesterday because of the weekend market. Thank God, excerpts of the interview were readily posted on the internet. And just when I was enjoying the online replay, my internet connection at home became slow. It’s good that a friend forwarded me this transcript of KC’s much talked about interview with Boy Abunda in The Buzz. Read on: :)

Boy Abunda: Kristina (KC), this is not going to be easy para sa iyo, para sa amin. But we have to start this conversation somewhere.Umpisahan natin doon sa October 21 of last year, noong naging officially kayo ni Piolo Pascual. What was it like? Take me back to October 21.

But then in the the last three years talaga, since bumalik ako from abroad, siya yung unang bumungad sa akin—siya at saka yung barkada niya yung una kong nakilala.

Two years kasi ako Tito niligawan ni PJ [Piolo's nickname] — on and off.

Simula ng Lovers In Paris na sinasabi niyang he wants to get to know me more than a friend.

Boy : What would you be thinking during those times na wala na tapos biglang babalik na naman?

And then he came back nung April 2010, and then sabi niya nung birthday ko… Pinuntahan niya ako sa beach and then sabi niya sa akin, ‘Give me another chance.’”

BOY: At binigyan mo siya ng pagkakataon?

KC: Opo naman. After that, by October 2010, he asked me to be his girlfriend.

For me, ano lang, babae lang ako na niligawan, kinilig nang sobra. Kasi, di ba, tingnan ka lang ni Piolo ng konti, talaga namang…di ba, as a girl, kikiligin ka talaga? As I always say, ikaw ba ligawan ni PJ? Or somebody na kasing bait niya or somebody na ganyan kaguwapo… At that time, nagpapakatotoo lang naman ako.”

BOY: During this time na niligawan ka ni Piolo…

So, sabi ko, ‘Poproblemahin ba natin yun yung ibang tao? Kasi anyone can have naman an opinion about you, anyone can have an opinion about me.’ So, sabi ko, ‘Wag natin pansinin yung ibang tao. If anything, ako, sasabihin ko sa iyo I trust you. ‘So let’s make it a point na kung anuman yung sasabihin mo sa akin, kung anuman ang sasabihin ko sa iyo, yun ang paniniwalaan ko.’”

BOY: What was the best thing about that relationship?

KC: You know, it’s my first showbiz relationship, e.

    BOY: Ibig sabihin, taga-showbiz?

KC: Yes, pareho kami ng trabaho. So, I think the best thing is that natuto ako na parang mas naging mas mature talaga ako sa relationship na ito.

It sounds corny, pero yung mas accepting ako.

BOY: Ikumpara mo nga Kristina ang October 21 of 2010 at ang October 21 of 2011. May mga pagbabago? Pagkakapareho? Saan napunta ang relasyon?

KC: Marami pong naklaro sa akin.

    BOY: Katulad?

Parang masyado akong nagbigay ng benefit of the doubt sa lahat.

  5. KC Concepcion cries over breakup with Piolo Pascual in The Buzz

    November 27, 2011 by ajay

I had just come today from my tiring but fulfilling stint in Soderno weekend market. What would greet me… aside from friends who want to try Chicken Delish. …. is the news about KC Concepcion crying over her breakup with Piolo Pascual in a heartbreaking interview with Boy Abunda in The Buzz.

Here’s a video preview of the Buzz interview I picked up on Youtube:

And of course people in my social networks are agog with their own opinions. Something in the likes of “didn’t she know it all along, or was she just trying to make a better man out of him? ” I can only empathize with KC. It can be a frustrating/unnerving experience to hang on to someone you’ve been trying to chase all this time. And in this instance, what old folks say about affairs of the heart is always true: it is always better for a woman’s sanity if a man is a real man! loves her more than she loves him. O

  6. Soderno @ Molito & my food project Chicken Delish

    November 25, 2011 by ajay

Straight from the organizers of Mercato Centrale, Soderno @ Molito – the newest weekend market in the South of Manila – made its successful maiden run last November 18-20. The official address is the Molito Lifestyle Center at the corner of Madrigal & Commerce Avenues, in front of Alabang Town Center and Ayala Alabang Village.

    Chicken Delish

I was supposed to be at Soderno last Sunday for my food project Chicken Delish but ‘chickened out’ at the last minute :) Excited isn’t really the word. Frantic is more like it as I prepared for this project without taking a leave from my full time job. But yes, there’s no backing out now. I hope to see my friends, readers & countrymen in Soderno @ Molito this Sunday. Come visit my booth and have a taste of them tasty chicken wings & drummettes a la BonChon & Kyochon :) I’ll be selling fried chicken in a variety of sauces and flavors like kung pao, sriracha, Pinoy barbecue and my favorite Korean fried chicken (KFC) recipe with pickled radish :)

  7. Pacquiao wins vs Marquez for the 3rd time

    November 13, 2011 by ajay

Surprisingly, Filipinos have mixed feelings about Manny Pacquiao’s win against Juan Manuel Marquez in their historic Nov. 12 bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It wasn’t a knockout but Pacquiao was proclaimed the WBO welterweight champion based on judges’ decision. Scores were at 114-114, 115-113 and 116-112, in favor of Pacquiao.

In reality, some of my Facebook buddies thought Marquez played the better game, except for Round 12 where he appeared to have slowed down. Our friend Spanky called it an unconvincing win while others branded it “lutong Macau.” Some chorused: “even Manny is not proud of this game.” News reports said loud boos were heard for a long time at the boxing venue in Las Vegas.

Nonetheless we’re Filipinos and remain proud of our invincible sporting hero Manny Pacquiao! The only thing that can assuage restless parties now is a Pacquiao vs Marquez rematch or Pacquiao finally facing Mayweather in the next game, if that will ever come to pass.

  8. Finally, a safety school for motorcycle riders

    November 8, 2011 by ajay

    Safety Riders

We all know about the host of accidents that Manila’s motorcycle riders engage themselves in, and the unlucky ones even die. It seems safety really is a big issue for our motorcylists who get sideswiped by buses or bumped off by trucks. I would only dare ride a motorcycle in the metro’s crazy streets if I go to this school that just opened. What’s investing a thousand pesos for the sake of your dear life, right?

Located at the Ortigas Home Depot along Julia Vargas Avenue in Pasig City, Safe-T-Ryders Motorcycle Training Center offers basic and enrichment riding courses that will give motorcycle riders a sound foundation to be safer road users. And the lessons are affordable too. The basic and enrichment courses, which include theory inputs and practical riding exercises, are priced at only P750 for each two-day program. For those who want to refresh their knowledge about riding safety, there is also a three-hour lecture for only P200.

  9. The much-talked about murder in the neighborhood

    November 7, 2011 by ajay

For a week now, the country has been closely watching developments in the second biggest murder mystery that’s happened in BF Homes Paranaque since the Vizconde massacre.

With how it’s turning out in the Ramgen Revilla murder, it’s not the usual suspects that are involved here but a seeming saga of family conflict over love and money and envy at who is getting more. Is this a fratricide, a modern day version of Cain and Abel or a Shakespearean tragedy? Only a proper investigation will show (but even so, the Vizconde case seems to be dragging forever, with acquittals and all)

    P1110126

It just feels eerie.I often hang out in this Starbucks branch whenever hubby is getting his shave or haircut at Bruno’s Barbers next door. This is the same Starbucks where Ramona Revilla – the sister whose name is now dragged in the killing of Ramgen – is considered a regular. And the baristas will tell you she was even there in the hours prior to the tragic incident and that she seemed to be in her normal self. She was often either alone or with a friend, they will say.

Starbucks in President’s Avenue would be familiar to most people since it is across the original branch of the famous Conti’s Pastry Shop and Restaurant.

  10. Steve Jobs: February 24,1955 – October 5, 2011

    October 6, 2011 by ajay

This day has been filled mostly with tweets, tributes and outpourings of grief from people on the death of the great tech visionary, Steven Jobs.I’ve spent the time re-reading his biography and watching his famous 2005 speech to graduating students of Stanford University. There are many snippets of his life I find inspiring (being an adopted child for one). It’s just quite regrettable that he has to “retire” so early at the tender age of 56.

Short as his life may be, Steve Jobs leaves behind a legacy of greatness in Apple and among millions of users around the world. (You may leave your online expressions of condolence here) The inevitable question now is: what happens to Apple now after Steve? I quite like the meaning of the image below.Apple will definitely not be the same without Steve Jobs. But since it’s a great company, it should continue to be what it is – still churning out one great product after another.

    iMourn.

Apple will never be the same

Steve may have gone but his spirit lives on. The spirit hopefully inspires another great innovator to follow in his footsteps.
