  2. Saizen store opens in Robinsons Place Manila

    October 3, 2011 by ajay

    Saizen Robinsons Manila

I couldn’t quite contain my happiness and excitement that a big branch of Saizen discount store has opened at the Faura Wing of Robinsons Place Manila (Robinsons Place Ermita, if you wish!) As I love all things Saizen, this is bad news for my wallet, but am certainly glad it is just a few steps away from where I work now. It used to be that I waited for the opportunity to go to their branch in Robinsons Galleria to buy all those cute and funky stuff I adore!

The good thing with shopping in Saizen, there’s new items each time. But you really have to allot time and effort to go through each stacks and try to decipher the labels which are often written in Japanese.

For instance, I just discovered how wonderful the food section in Saizen is.They have all these sauces and dressings, noodles, furikake, biscuits, rice crackers and all those chichirya.

  4. Robinsons Red Hot Sale till August 31

    August 16, 2011 by ajay

If this is the season for great sales in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore, we need not go far because equally nice selections are in Manila. For one, the Robinsons Malls have their Red Hot Sale to check out, with up to 70% off on premium items.

I was in Robinsons Galleria last Saturday and quickly switched on my shopaholic mode. There’s nothing like a good bargain when you see one! We have until August 31 to get a hold of great deals in all Robinsons Malls (full list after this post). Here’s a few I’ve spotted in Rob Galleria:

Cute household items & other knick-knacks from Saizen for as low as P25 (a big drop from the usual 88).I always go to this store for hard-to-find bento stuff, stationery and even make-up.They’ve now stocked up on those delicious Japanese sauces & dressings too – a must-buy for my next visit.

    Robinsons Red Hot Sale

These dainty tops for up to 50% off at Bayo.I love this Filipino clothing brand for their neat, up-to-date styles. Getting them at a big discount is a steal!

  5. Lovin’ my Hed Kandi

    August 13, 2011 by ajay

As a listener, I prefer headphones over earphones. What about you? Whether at the gym or just plain strutting to music on my iTunes at home, I like it when my listening device fits snugly over my head. Somehow, I feel a sense of security when I do this. Earphones tend to fall over my ears and I have this habit of pressing them in for tightness. Not the most comfortable feeling in the world :D

    hedkandi

Of course am lucky that am not wearing glasses that will obstruct how the headphone is secured in the back of my head. Recently, I got a Discotheque headphone from Hed Kandi, the international label with these hip line-up of musical accessories. The first-time buyer would surely be enticed by the cool packaging. It’s good enough to be given as a gift as much as it is something to treat yourself with.

  6. Black Bag promo from Pakyaw

    August 3, 2011 by ajay

    Pakyaw

Check out Pakyaw.com.ph, if you haven’t yet. It’s definitely on the list of my Top 3 favorite group buying sites. I like the fact that their merchant partners are carefully picked and are attuned more to my taste. Some of the deals I bought from Pakyaw and never regretted is our L’Entrecote steak dinner (a steal at P595!) and five-course meal from Lolo Dad’s Brasserie.

And now, the site currently has the Black Bag promo running from July 19 to August 21. Two people have won a 32″ LCD TV and a Samsung Galaxy Tab already. So far I’ve joined but haven’t yet gotten the chance to buy the black bag for P2000 and win the mystery prize. Who knows it could be you? :D

    Here’s how to join:

  9. Oliver Tolentino designs bags for Rags2Riches

    May 18, 2011 by ajay

    Oliver Tolentino for RIIR

Multi-awarded Filipino couturier Oliver Tolentino designed the bags and the women of Payatas crafted them. They fall under the label Makulay collection, the latest in the designer lin-up of social enterprise Rags2Riches. Previous collaborations were with Rajo Laurel and Amina Aranaz.

The bags look beautiful…. who would ever think they’re made from scrap clothing and indigenous materials? They’re certainly timely for summer, and beyond! Here are some of my favorites:

    Rags2Riches

Nothing looks whimsical than a fringe bag with wooden handle. Retaso (cuttings) will never look so unwelcome again.

    Rags2Riches

I found this to be the most elegant-looking of the bunch. A combination of crochet piping and button accents. Knowing RIIR’s profit for a good cause, why mind spending from three to five thousand on a bag when you know it can benefit an underprivileged sector of society, the urban poor women of Payatas, once the largest dumpsite in Quezon City?
