  1. Cherry Mobile price list – December 2011

    November 20, 2011 by ajay

    Cherry Mobile Candy - violet

It’s Christmas bonus time and am sure a lot of people will be buying cellphones as a gift this Christmas. I know the feeling – I just gave a triple-SIM workhorse to my teenage boy who lost his last phone…ouch.

For mothers like me, cheap mobile phones will always be an option because we are practical. We can’t always afford the expensive cellphones from major brands because we’re watching the budget. Besides, it’s nice to go cheap when you’re just scouting for a secondary phone so it doesn’t “hurt” when it’s stolen or lost. So yes, beginning today, I’ll be featuring prices of mobile phones (not just Cherry Mobile) and if you’re a mobile phone brand, just drop me an email and we’ll also feature you.

    Cherry Mobile android phones -

    Candy (Android 2.2) – P3699

  2. Cherry Mobile & affordable Android phones

    November 11, 2011 by ajay

I’ve been getting a lot of searches in this blog for cheap Android phones which only means that there’s high demand for such products. In the Philippines, one of the companies that offer really affordable handsets is Cherry Mobile. I was using a raffle-won Cherry Mobile Nova running on Android version 2.2 for a long time and it never gave up on me. So yes, this brand must be good enough for when you don’t want to put a hole in your pocket by settling for more expensive labels.

I was at Annabel’s Restaurant in Tomas Morato when Cherry Mobile launched their latest array of handsets for 2011. Take a look at the lady in the middle who is carrying the Candy Chat which is the cheapest Android model I know at P3,699. This phone already has wi-fi, qwerty keyboard and a slot for a micro-SD card.

The most high-end of the bunch is the Cherry Mobile 10.1 inch tablet priced at P16,899. It’s powered by Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor and runs on Android 2.2, upgradeable to a higher version.

  3. Cherry Mobile P1 giveaway & contest alert

    January 15, 2011 by ajay

Decluttering is one of my resolutions for 2011. There’s some stuff I got from press events I attended last year which am planning to give away to our dear readers this year. And that should be a good thing :D

    Here’s what am giving now:

Sony Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Headset – an impeccable product because it’s a Sony. With this device, you can answer calls and listen to music hands-free!

A Cherry Mobile P1 phone – the size of a credit card, it is touted as the smallest mobile phone in the market and one of the cheapest at P1000. I got this inside a cake last week (which makes this phone so yummy) and am giving it away now considering that we have enough phones in the household. Am quite attached to my Cherry Mobile Nova which is the first-ever Android phone I have used (and where I feel home these days). So yeah, I can very well vouch for the brand – functional phones at a cheap price!

  4. Cherry Mobile launches Android smartphones: Nova, Magnum HD & Superion tablet phone

    October 12, 2010 by ajay

    Cherry Mobile

The big bash announcing the launch of Cherry Mobile’s Android smartphones featured a nimble and sexily clad pole dancer. Some of us could only say “WHA??!”

It turned out to be a euphemism for something – Cherry Mobile revving up the excitement for the competition and pole vaulting its way to challenge giants like the Apple iPhone. Give credit to the fact that Cherry Mobile is one of a few Filipino-owned companies in a telecoms market dominated by global brands.

    Cherry Mobile Superion

Take, for example , the Cherry Mobile Superion which is a multi-touch tablet like the iPad, but goes further with its calling abilities. It runs on the latest Android OS, Froyo 2.2 and a powerful Qualcomm MSM 7227 600 MHz processor. Its other specifications include a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, wifi, 3G/ HSDPA connectivity, GPS, a 3mp primary camera and expandable memory up to 32GB. All these at a very tempting price of P19,990.

  5. Torque TQ800 Trinity is the first triple SIM phone, says proponent

    September 2, 2010 by ajay

    TORQUE TQ800 Trinity

This is a rather belated note of clarification on my previous blog post on Cherry Mobile and its triple SIM phone, Trident. The guys of Torque Mobile, notably Mr. Chris Uyco, nudged me to clarify that Torque TQ800 Trinity has the distinction of being the country’s first triple SIM phone, contrary to the claims of their close competitor.

“While Cherry mobile launched their Trident ad on July 1, Torque Mobile released its official press statement announcing the first Triple SIM phone on May 26, 2010,” said Torque, one of the newest players in the lucrative mobile phone market.

If I may offer my unsolicited advice to tech companies and their PR agents, it is always wise to conduct an email blast whenever you launch what you believe to be a revolutionary product. After all, email is FREE :D There’s no reason to be stingy or selective with this one. And bloggers like us are always in need of useful information.

Take for instance triple SIM phones. I will always be curious about them, even though I don’t see the need for one in my life. I think the whole idea is amazing, especially for people who have extensive interests and social networks.

The Torque TQ800 Trinity (Triple SIM TV + WiFi) is priced reasonably at P8,000 and should you consider buying one before the holidays, here’s its specifications:

  6. Cherry Mobile new handsets & Trident, the first triple SIM phone

    July 19, 2010 by ajay

Fast-rising telecommunications company Cherry Mobile invited us to an event last Saturday and I went, partially to satisfy my curiosity about today’s top teen stars Kim Chiu and John Lloyd Cruz. Awwww. Kim and Lloidy, as seen through my lens:

Cherry Mobile - Kim Chiu & John Lloyd Cruz

John Lloyd was muy simpatico while Kim was pretty and oh-so-thin. I wonder how much they’re being paid to endorse Cherry Mobile. It’s a win-win situation actually. Cherry can benefit from top movie star endorsements, even as it firms up its grip on the lucrative mobile phone market.

I have three officemates who own Cherry Mobile units and they have no complaints so far. This just goes to show that a gadget doesn’t have to be expensive to be able to go the extra mile. Word has it that CM phones are selling like hotcakes among budget-conscious consumers who want a good-looking feature-packed phone for less than five thousand pesos!
