While former President Arroyo subscribed to holiday economics, President Noynoy believes in economizing on holidays. As such, people should expect less holidays than usual under his term.

This is the case with the “long holiday weekend” everyone was looking forward to starting August 21,2010 Ninoy Aquino Day until August 23 which was declared by the previous administration a special holiday under Republic Act 9492 which required certain holidays to be moved to the nearest Monday.

It seems Malacanang has finally found a way in the “holiday economics” law by saying that it also empowers the President to modify said holidays by law, order or proclamation.
