  1. Samsung Galaxy Note: tablet & smartphone in one

    Honestly, am wondering about the comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S2 (which I own) and the soon-to-be released Galaxy Note which is the prolific Samsung’s newest Android.It is a common dilemma among users whether to upgrade or not to a newer model of the phone. Relief came when Odette of Samsung Philippines told me the Note will be “a different device and segment.” Great news since I still love the Galaxy S2 too much! :)

    So yes, that’s the Galaxy Note which will be made available in the Philippines mid-November. Price should be in the 30K range. The most attention-grabbing feature I see is the presence of a stylus which is rather odd in this age of touchscreens. But Samsung claims this is not just a stylus but a “digital S pen which can be used for accurate sketching and artwork, while superior handwriting recognition allows ideas to be freely captured and shared with other devices without the need to perform any additional digitization; handwritten text is accurately converted into digital characters.”

    I wonder how many people will be getting gadgets this Christmas but am sure the young-at-heart out there won’t mind getting one of these. This is what I’d call The eye candy – the stylish Samsung Series 3 305U1A notebook in attractive colors: black, silver, blue, pink & purple . Retail price is around 23 thousand pesos.

    We’ve had the chance to see this new line of notebooks during a chocolate-themed affair at Chocolate Fire a few weeks ago. Glad to know it’s not just alluring but a powerhouse in one compact body as well.Most impressive is the slim bezel display that’s as thin as a finger and its official weight of 1.2 kg. makes it very portable indeed.

    David Beckham for Samsung in London Olympics 2012

    Last seen in Prince William & Princess Kate’s wedding, famous footballer David Beckham has signed up as global brand ambassador for Samsung, particularly in its role as Worldwide Olympic Partner for Wireless Communications Equipment of the London 2012 Olympic Games.

    At the official signing at the Savoy Hotel in London, Samsung – through its Vice President & Head of Worldwide Sports Marketing Gyehyun Kwon – acknowledged Beckham’s London roots and his role in bringing the Olympic Games to his home city.

    “David has been actively taking part in a number of initiatives to help young people around the world to enjoy a better life, while Samsung’s London 2012 marketing campaign will also place great importance on the value of engaging youth. And to this end, we’re delighted that David will be supporting our goal to extend the Olympic Games spectator experience to fans throughout the world using our leading smart mobile technology,” Mr. Kwon said.

  4. Samsung 2011 gadgets & appliances up close

    One of the events I attended last week was the annual Samsung AV Roadshow held at the Crowne Plaza Galleria. It was my turn to ogle at what the Korean electronics giant had to offer in terms of TVs, cameras and other gadgets for 2011.

    The new line-up of Smart TVs is simply awesome. Imagine being able to Facebook right in your living room, then share whatever you’re watching with your close FB friends. The TVs are smart enough to recommend videos based on your viewing habits.

  5. Samsung Galaxy S debuts in the Philippines, free at Globe Plan 2499 for July only!

    Models Raya Mananquil , Isabel Roces and Valerie De los Santos are a sight to behold, but even more of an eye candy is the smartphone they’re holding: the much-touted Samsung Galaxy S which made its debut in the Philippines today.

    Something about the Samsung Galaxy S specifications make it the “must have” gadget of the season. I certainly drooled the first time I held it in my hands. Its enviable feature set includes: super sleek form factor, 4-inch super AMOLED touchscreen, HD video capability, powerful 1 GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera, internal memory of up to 16GB (expandable to 32GB by microSD) and of course it is using Android OS version 2.1 which should make it user-friendly for us using Google :D

  6. Samsung Corby phones for the youth’s social networking lifestyle

    With Christmas just around the corner, demand for mobile phones is skyrocketing again. It’s certainly out there as one of the most in-demand holiday gifts. Parents, youngsters as well as young professionals are all saving up for the shiny new phone they can parade around just in time for Christmas.

    Like most people, I’ve tried almost all cellphone brands. It was a long time ago since I’ve owned a Samsung. ’twas a slider phone to be exact. I had a great time being reacquainted with this brand again over the weekend. They had invited the media for an event launching three new phones of their Samsung Corby line which is geared for the youth and young professionals. They’re colorful, they’re sleek, they look hip and they’re all affordably priced, which is what matters most of all.
