I was all raving about MoMo! Food + Drink when they opened. With free wifi, cool waitstaff and mouthwatering desserts as low as P50, it was destined to be the great hangout on Robinsons new Midtown Wing.Until they closed for renovations and revamped their menu. Unfortunately, things look headed for the worst.
Brewed coffee is now at P150 from the previous P75. At this rate, am better hanging out in the Shang-ri La. π
My friend ordered their peach torte for P195, and it was nothing outstanding. The premium dessert, L’Opera at the nearby Manila Diamond Hotel is better and cheaper because it’s only P165.
The only good thing was that MoMo! serves these breadsticks with a serving of herbed butter, before your main course arrives.
I ordered their Hickory Pork Barbecue Ribs (P375) because it was recommended by the house. And I am given a platter with a siding of roasted veggies that tasted far from appetizing. Worse of all, the ribs were far from falling off the bone. It had chewy parts and tasted like it just came from being frozen. More ribs than meat too.
And as I paid P750++ for something that I honestly felt wasn’t value for money, I asked myself: “whatever happened to MoMo?” This was one case when renovations, a change of management and other what-nots turn for the worst.
Rating: go back at your own risk.

I have tried their Smoked Salmon with Dill Cream Cheese Pizza which was so sarap and I also tried the Mac and Cheese which was a let-down. What I hated about the place is that the crowd seems to indulged on the free wifi, ordering only a fruit shake and staying for gazzillion hours leaving other customers with no tables.
I was browsing and searching for answers as to why Momo closed but felt relieved knowing that they have a place in Eastwood despite it being utterly far from me.
I just came from Robinson’s yesterday and I saw that Arya will be moving to Momo’s location. I’ve eaten at Arya which is on the 2nd floor of the same mall and I must say, there was nothing special about their dishes. I had such a great dining experience in Momo and I frequented it a lot with my cousin so now, we’re left to find another hang out which is difficult because of the limited choices. The place was always packed so it still leaves me baffled.
Momo, WHY? π
