Here’s what am loving right now: Honestbee food delivery. Because really…what’s not to love about it? As a busy mom, I get to do other errands, watch Netflix, have my manicure at the salon etc. without having to worry that my brood will go hungry.
Their food choices are affordable, you don’t have to deal with the traffic and delivery is even free with some of the stores. Plus, you get the free yellow Honestbee eco bag with every order. All it takes is to download the Honestbee app from your mobile phone, look at the list of restaurants available in the area, browse through the menu, then click! Easy as 1-2-3.
The most laudable thing, in my own opinion, is how Honestbee has opened the business to small, homegrown businesses and not just the big chains. The list of merchants on the site is well-curated and we can see that quality of the food and variety offered are considered, and not just how well-funded the company is.
In the words of Crystal Gonzalez, honest bee’s managing director for the Philippines: “We love collaborating with our merchants, and watching their businesses thrive and grow
because of our service.”
In this photo, Gonzalez is shown with some of the Honestbee food merchants that they introduced in a media event recently. They are the owners of Kanto Freestyle, Fat Ninja, Varda Burger and Victoria’s Pancit Malabon. It was quite heartwarming to hear their entrepreneurship journey.
Starting out as a hole-in-the-wall, Kanto Freestyle has already gained a following for their delectable yet affordable all-day breakfast fare served 24/7.For those craving or just curious about Kanto’s specialties like gourmet pancakes, eggs Benedict and heavenly silogs, it’s really good news that they’re just an online reservation away through Honestbee.
Fat Ninja is a Japanese restaurant that lets people enjoy cheap yet high-quality Japanese food. Vincent Rocha, one of the owners, started out in the hotel industry and took a leap of faith by opening his own business venture.
“We started out with a stall in Mercato, and now we have our first physical store. In the beginning, our store only had little foot traffic, but since joining honestbee we’ve increased our direct sales especially during the rainy days,” he said.
Varda Burger is the brainchild of Chris Guarin, a former telecoms exec. What started as a small burger chain in 2016 that was located in school campuses, now has 34 branches and is expected to end 2018 with 50 locations in total.
“Being with honestbee has helped expand my business even more. Now any time my customers want a burger, they can just order online,” Guarin noted.
Victoria’s Pancit Malabon is owned by actor Michael Agassi and family. Their business idea is anchored on the humble yet delicious pansit which is a staple on special occasions celebrated by Pinoys and are usually served up in platters and big packages (like bilao).
Agassi admitted that their first few months in the business weren’t the best because of competition. ” But with our first three months in honestbee, we’ve experienced a triple increase in sales. It has reached to the point where we don’t even need to put our in-store sales as much, because honestbee has helped us gain more customers. Now, people can be ready for any potluck or celebration just by ordering online,” Agassi said.
It’s nice to hear good news from our hardworking entrepreneurs. And with the Christmas season fast approaching, we’re sure business will be brisk for everyone. Food ordering has just been revolutionized, made with a simple click from the comfort of one’s home or location. For more information, visit www.honestbee.ph
