12 Things I learned after the incident

December 31, 2005 ·

1. A report about the robbery was in this tabloid yesterday and I thought ... it sucks to be in the newspaper when what I really want is for it to be on national television (hopefully, a picture of The Evil Bitch will be flashed on TV screens soon.) 2. Some people from my company were really cruel. Aside from reminding me about my "katangahan," this guy from our security department was even laughing like a hyena when he read about it in the newspaper. Crab mentality at its best! 3. .. and I know that people who hate/envy me for no reason are secretly gloating. A ... Continue Reading...

‘You Make Me Believe In Christmas’

December 24, 2005 ·

family Originally uploaded by annalyn. To My Beloved Paolo, Dianne & Dionne, Did I ever tell you I really don't like Christmas .... all the traffic, the impatient drivers, the pushing and shoving in public areas, the frantic search for perfect gifts, the exorbitant prices in most shopping centers, the pressure to cook for noche buena, meeting relatives you don't like in family reunions etc etc? By some twist of fate, your Mom is also at her lowest in Christmas this year because I have lost some very valuable things. This is exactly the reason why I can only ... Continue Reading...

My ’22 random things’

November 19, 2005 ·

My blog friend Toni posted this more than two weeks ago and since I've been rather uninspired in updating this site (while awaiting my DSL connection at home), I had fun doing this. It's always fun when you don't have to exercise too much of your brain. Call me uninteresting, call me boring but here are 22 random things about yers truly: 1. While most people love pizza, I don't. 2. Don't pester me with Pinoy Big Brother, I hardly watch TV. My son won't let me. 3. I had my first boyfriend at the age of 20. 4. Que horror. In my 20's and living alone, I woke up to an ... Continue Reading...

A sucker for ‘psychics’

November 12, 2005 ·

How much of your life would you leave to fate and how much of it would you leave to fortune-tellers or self-proclaimed 'psychics'? I didn't realize how my close friends were drawn to these things until I told them about how my resident psychic M accurately predicted some things in my life and they would badger me: "So who is she? What's her telephone number and errr, how much?" My kids would kill me if they knew Mom would pay P600 to have her fortunes told when they could have two gallons of ice cream instead. But I do see Madame M every semester or once every ... Continue Reading...

Un-Friendstered! & Other Lapses in Etiquette

September 18, 2005 ·

Two persons deleted me from their Friendster accounts the past two months which caught me by surprise. One did so mysteriously, the other told me why. I really don't think I should be losing sleep over some people who have profound attitude problems but this is exactly the reason why I think Friendster sucks in the first place. Why should they inform me about the new features they've added, who's uploaded new photos and who are celebrating their birthdays hhetcetera, but leave me at a loss as to when I've been removed from somebody's circle. Do the admin guys really ... Continue Reading...
