Meralco to offer prepaid electricity soon
And we thought prepaid was only for mobile phones! It was quite a surprise hearing from the country's main electricity distributor Meralco that they will be offering prepaid kuryente soon (and that's hopefully before the end of the year!) The words are from Meralco VP and chief IT architect (aka CIO) Marthyn Cuan who explained that they will be catering to certain market segments in need of prepaid service. There's supposed to be no typhoon but Manila has been experiencing heavy rains which is already threatening people living in low-lying areas and raised the flood alert level to RED, meaning evacuation is necessary.
