Manila-Dubai flights by Cebu Pacific

January 17, 2013 ·

Leading Philippine budget carrier Cebu Pacific finally says hello to long-haul flights with an 888 seat sale for Manila-Dubai (vice versa) which will launch on October 7, 2013. The company will be using its newly-leased Airbus A330s which will also be used for another forthcoming Middle East route, Saudi Arabia. The A330 will seat 436 passengers and is of course bigger than the Airbus A320s which the carrier uses throughout its Asian destinations. Flight time from Manila to Dubai is approximately nine hours. ... Continue Reading...

Airbnb expands to the Philippines

January 15, 2013 ·

I have never been a client of Airbnb although I love seeing the homes and rooms being put up for rent around the world. Somehow, it gives me an idea how people are living in faraway places like Paris, Morocco and San Francisco. It turns out the Philippines is now one of Airbnb's growing markets with 400 per cent growth year-over-year in the Philippines in 2012.According to the web company's co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Nathan Blecharczyk : “Manila is a growing travel destination, and people from the Philippines are traveling abroad at increasing rates, so ... Travelling to Sagada

January 9, 2013 ·

Travelling to Sagada is something a Filipino should make once in his lifetime. As for me, I've always had this dream of going to Sagada but you really have to make the effort to see it. The land travel was no joke. Ten hours or so going by bus to Banaue and then another 4 to 5 hours riding a jeepney to your final destination. Along the way, you encounter zigzag roads with the mountains to your right and deep ravines to your left. I figure there are also landslides during the rainy season :) Travel to Sagada usually peaks during Holy Week and the date before New Year ... Continue Reading...

Family bonding time at Widus Resort & Casino

December 11, 2012 ·

Even though it's got the word casino appended to its name, I never saw the inside of the gaming areas the whole time we were at Widus Resort .& Casino inside the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga. That's because I was with the family (hubby and three daughters). We were booked in the resort's Filipino-themed Junior Suite and our youngest girl Lucia was jumping up & down and shrieking with excitement at being in a hotel. I guess she's got the taste for the finer things in life this early :) The Junior Suite is definitely bigger than the deluxe rooms because it had ... Continue Reading...

Now a top contributor for Trip Advisor

November 6, 2012 ·

Last week, I got the news that I've received the Top Contributor badge on Trip Advisor. This only means that I've done 50+ reviews on the site of the hotels, restos and attractions I've visited in the past two years. No big deal but it's my way of giving back to the travel community since I consult, even rely on Trip Advisor member ratings whenever I go to certain places. So far, they've had a good batting average as far as recos are concerned. 2012 has been a bummer for me when it came to travelling as I poured my funds on my business + real estate (& a toddler ...
