Flying @thaiairways to Bangkok

July 27, 2015 ·

My first time flying with TG was through a media familiarization tour of Bangkok and Ayutthaya back in my newspaper days. And since I don't always go to Thailand, I was excited to try Thai Airways during our recent family trip, this time as a paying customer. Since am quite the 'nervous flyer,' finding the cheapest fare isn't the most important thing for me, but rather feeling 'safe' with an airline. So I read Wikipedia entries and customer feedback. The reviews were mixed. But I was glad to find out that for a last-minute booking to Bangkok like what I did, Thai ... Continue Reading...

Parque Espana Residence Hotel in Alabang : a review

Parque Espana Residence Hotel in Alabang : a review

Parque Espana Residence Hotel in Alabang is kinda off the radar but some people would consider it a boon that it's in a quiet, still uncrowded location. Also, the area of this hotel is fast developing. There are big outlets of McDonalds & Jollibee nearby and it's just across Commercenter building with its hip row of new bars & restaurants. So yes, this made us happy campers here two weeks ago. Our five-year old Lucia was the happiest. She's really loving these weekend staycations and excitedly expects it to be a regular occurrence. Said she: "We're doing this every ... Continue Reading...

Stonehouse Gardens Resort in Naga City

Stonehouse Gardens Resort in Naga City

Th girls and I went to the Bicol region over the Labor Day weekend. We didn't really know anybody there but I wanted to go there again for the food and some places to be discovered. It was Legaspi City in 2012 and now the pitstop was Naga. Our five year old Lucia managed to endure the nine-hour overnight trip, thanks to the comfy Lazyboy chairs of the Penafrancia bus company. Fare was P1,100 one way. Once in Naga City, we were really excited about going to the Stonehouse Gardens Resort and true enough, the view was so refreshing with all the greenery. Exact ... Hotel sáv opens in Hong Kong

Have you ever been to Hung Hom in Hong Kong? Most of us haven't, LOL. Located on the southeastern part of Kowloon, this area was quite a revelation since what can be seen here are mostly traditional shophouses that's unlike the modern part of HK. But it's very refreshing still that a sleek new modern hotel has opened in this part of town. The name: Hotel sáv. sáv is part of Chuang's Group which also owns hotels/resorts in Taipei, Xiamen and Cebu City. Its CEO & founder Edwin Chuang is only 30 and graduated with a degree in architecture, interior & urban planning ... Continue Reading...
