One day in Pampanga with NorthPine Land: 5 things to see and do

Being just a two-hour drive away, Pampanga is one of those places that's highly accessible from Manila. I've travelled to this province several times either on personal trips with my family or as part of a tour, and it's something I will never get tired of. One can go shopping.... savor a food trip.... there's an assortment of restaurants in Clark, Angeles City and beyond do physical activities like hiking in Mount Pinatubo... or simply enjoy a weekend staycation at any of the hotels...they're as good, if not more scenic, than the ones in Manila. Recently, ... Continue Reading...

In Pampanga, NorthPine Land unveils Montana Views

September 15, 2016 ·

It was the kind of road trip that you'd wake up at 5am for. First, because there was breakfast at Starbucks and then, they promised a visit to Montana. No, not the Montana that you'd take United Airways Flight 1549 for, but rather the Montana with the views. Montana Views between San Fernando and Mexico. ...again, not in the Americas but in the bustling region that is Pampanga, Philippines. How refreshing to wake up seeing such perfectly laid-out surroundings :) This real estate project is the first property development of NorthPine Land in the north ... Continue Reading...

New Silk Road seen to rise linking Europe to Asia

August 19, 2016 ·

Is it really possible to connect Europe to Asia through an extensive rail network? After all, they were able to do it in ancient times with the famed Silk Road - a trade route that connected East to West, spanning China, India, Persia, Arabia and Europe. At present, there's the Trans-Siberian Railway which bridges Moscow to China, Mongolia and Pyongyang. But that's not really enough. International transport experts are now talking about a new Silk Road, proposed to be called the One Belt, One Road Initiative for ASEAN. The starting fund for this project is said to ... Tambayan Hostel & Gastrobar in Malate, Manila

June 20, 2016 ·

Sometimes, reporting for work in Manila depresses me. All the beggars, street urchins, traffic, dirt. It doesn't help that they've elected the same man to rule the city for the next six years. Just when I thought I've given up on Manila comes a place like Tambayan. Did they say this is a hostel?? I like places with character and Tambayan Hostel has got it right down pat. This forms part of the lobby... The wooden staircase leading to the rooms with the stained glass piece is simply eye-catching - The rooms in Tambayan Hostel range from P500 a ... Continue Reading...

Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery in Shatin

June 5, 2016 ·

The 10,000 Buddhas Monastery in Shatin is often overlooked by many tourists to Hong Kong. After all, how many of us will bother riding the East Rail Line all the way up the New Territories? But am telling you it's well worth the visit if you want something out of the ordinary from the hustle and bustle of HK. The entrance is impressive enough. There are approximately 500 golden life-size statues lining the pathway. One couldn't help but be amazed, if not amused, with their different poses and expressions. Prepare to exercise. I regretted not ... Continue Reading...
