DSC00072 One of the best parts of my recent vacation was my side trip to Zhuhai, a Special Economic Zone of the People's Republic of China which is separated by a mere border gate from Macau. Going to Zhuhai meant I had to go through two immigration counters again for my entry-exit. But applying for a visa is hassle-free, provided you have no problem with your papers. Quezon City is a bit far for a Manila girl like me, but what makes the distance sweet is that it is a cheap MRT ride away. Compare paying fifteen pesos on the train and driving to EDSA with all those cumbersome buses on the way - I will always choose the former. Another good thing that came out of my visit to Expo Espana was the chance to discover this nice shop devoted to espadrilles. The word is French but espadrilles are proudly made in Spain where they are probably as common there as our bakya. They are casual footwear distinguished for having soles made of braided rope or jute and the soft fabric make them oh-so-ideal for walking, strolling and malling.
