with iMac. Here is moi posing with the new iMac in Manila Bulletin's Technews Lab. I've never been a Mac user pero nakaka-in love at first iSight. It just means to say that we have to say bye-bye to those chunky computers and clunky cables soon .. the new iMac design has fantastic ergonomics, a wafer-thin keyboard and so much more. Features we love: - Control the computer via Apple remote - Intel Core 2 Duo processor - Choice of 20" and 24" widescreen displays - Built-in Bluetooth and WiFi - Fast web-browsing via Safari with parental controls ... WikiPilipinas: Call for contributions
My Blog-O-Rama column in Manila Bulletin this week deals with "WikiPilipinas and today's knowledge revolution." If you belong to the older generation (like me), do you remember the time when passing a term paper entailed being holed up in the library for hours? Poring through thousands of titles was a great challenge as finishing the paper itself. Of course during this time, buying a 24- or 30-volume encyclopedia was a status symbol in Filipino families, much like owning a piano or having a member of the family work in Saudi or Southern California. iPhone at first sight: it’s aaaahmazing!
Me with the iPhone. Liveblogging here at the Manila Bulletin Technews office and I still can't get over laying my dainty hands on the much-heralded 8GB (!) Apple iPhone . Everyone who's held it is right, you hold the iPhone and it immediately elicits a "wow!" not to mention irrepressible "ooh's" and "aahs." It's thin in size and if you're looking for a ... Continue Reading...
Friendster vs. Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn etc.
Fix.jpg. It's official: Friendster is so 2003. It's like living in a time warp with all the jologs people in the universe :D I realized this while having lunch with my brother last Saturday. I asked him to tell my niece (his daughter) why she hasn't accepted my Friend Request, pending for the longest time. He tells him she's hanging out in MySpace. It has been a long time since I've taken a serious jab at the dating sites and all these social networking things. I don't have a dime of a time to spare in the world and am not necessarily looking. The ... Continue Reading...
iPhone arrives in Intramuros
Iphone in RP. The trailblazing Manila Bulletin Technews lab in Intramuros is officially now the first publication in the Philippines to get hold of the much-vaunted Apple iPhone. I am also excited to be one of the first to test-drive this wonder after my editor promised to lend it to me soon after he's finished reviewing it. Something like next week ora mismo, hehe :P While I would have liked to review the ballyhooed iPhone, it would have put too much pressure and intimidated the hell out of me. Secondly, am not a Mac user. I am curious to find out ... Continue Reading...
