We like learning about healthy stuff and so the Watsons #GetActive event held recently was an excellent opportunity to absorb more of the good stuff.
The venue was this co-working space called Squared One BGC in Bonifacio Technology Center which had coolness written all over it.
Persian-Filipino hottie Sam Ajdani demonstrated how to have the body that made him win Mr. World Philippines 2016. But he said being fit does not really require expensive gym visits. One can tone arms, for example, by carrying a gallon or two of mineral water in exercise position. The trick, Sam said, is to keep moving. Skipping rope is one effective activity one can engage in also.
Barney Alejandro-Rennebeck of the famous diet delivery service The Sexy Chef showed the audience how one can adopt good nutrition by taking the time to prepare one’s meals instead of resorting to fast food.
Chef Barney taught us how to make Greek Salad and Overnight Oats which did not only look attractive in mason jars but are packed with the required daily nutrients!
Lastly, Dr. Mitzi Reodica – a nutritionist and pediatric gastroenterologist – talked about the importance of a balanced diet. If one is not able to eat the needed fruits and vegetables daily, supplementing with vitamins is a good idea, she said.
One can get Vitamin D from direct sunlight, but other must-haves are Vitamin C, Vitamin B Complex, zinc and Vitamin E to repair cell damage among others, among others.
Of course, Watsons is one of the best places in the city to get one’s vitamin fix. They offer all kinds of brands including prominent ones like Enervon, Conzace, Ceelin, Revicon, Myra E, Centrum, Stresstabs, Rogin E, Fern C and their very own Watsons Generics.
And the good news is that Watsons is offering up to 20 percent off on select vitamins for a limited time. It is also offering its loyal customers a chance to win trips to Bali, Guam or Sydney, or win an iPhone 7 or iPad for a minimum P500 single-receipt purchase of select vitamins and health products. Promo runs until June 28, 2017 and is exclusive to SM Advantage, SM Prestige, PRiMO and BDO Rewards Card holders.
