Good service and warranty is the reason why people are loyal to Apple products (rest in peace, Steve Jobs!) I still remember the time when something went wrong with my aluminum Macbook's LCD screen. Thankfully, we were subscribed to Apple Care and had it brought for repair with no fuss at a Power Mac Center. In a week, they returned my unit with a flawless screen and it certainly felt like my lappy was all-new again. And now, am glad to learn that the Philippines' leading Apple reseller Digital Hub is offering the Protect+ coverage for Apple products like the ... Continue Reading...
Samsung Galaxy Note: tablet & smartphone in one
Honestly, am wondering about the comparison between the Samsung Galaxy S2 (which I own) and the soon-to-be released Galaxy Note which is the prolific Samsung's newest Android. It is a common dilemma among users whether to upgrade or not to a newer model of the phone. Relief came when Odette of Samsung Philippines told me the Note will be "a different device and segment." Great news since I still love the Galaxy S2 too much! :) So yes, that's the Galaxy Note which will be made available in the Philippines mid-November. Price should be in the 30K range. The most ... Finally, a safety school for motorcycle riders
We all know about the host of accidents that Manila's motorcycle riders engage themselves in, and the unlucky ones even die. It seems safety really is a big issue for our motorcylists who get sideswiped by buses or bumped off by trucks. I would only dare ride a motorcycle in the metro's crazy streets if I go to this school that just opened. What's investing a thousand pesos for the sake of your dear life, right? Located at the Ortigas Home Depot along Julia Vargas Avenue in Pasig City, Safe-T-Ryders Motorcycle Training Center offers basic and enrichment riding ... Continue Reading...
The much-talked about murder in the neighborhood
For a week now, the country has been closely watching developments in the second biggest murder mystery that's happened in BF Homes Paranaque since the Vizconde massacre. With how it's turning out in the Ramgen Revilla murder, it's not the usual suspects that are involved here but a seeming saga of family conflict over love and money and envy at who is getting more. Is this a fratricide, a modern day version of Cain and Abel or a Shakespearean tragedy? Only a proper investigation will show (but even so, the Vizconde case seems to be dragging forever, with acquittals ... Continue Reading...
Philippine Fashion Week 2011: Triumph
It's been a long time since I found time to watch the Philippine Fashion Week ( last one was in 2008!). This year, I woke up wanting to photograph the shows and feeling the vibe of the audience. It's nice to see the young ones taking the time to dress up, even if they're not part of the event. Next year, I'll probably document them instead of the models :) Anyway, the first show I watched for PFW 2011 was the Triumph underwear show. It was momentous since Triumph International is celebrating this year its "125 Years of Tailoring Female Shape." They unveiled two new ... Continue Reading...
