We've announced earlier in this space that H&M Robinsons Manila is opening today, December 17. Apparently, there's a delay. However, shopaholics can heave a sigh of relief that the waiting will not be much because the store will be unveiling its full fashion showcase on Saturday, December 20! Doors open at 11 am and close at midnight so there will definitely be plenty of time to shop. After the launching day, normal operating hours will be observed, namely from 10 am to 9pm. H&M Megamall opening in September?
This is just our wild guess. Insiders prefer to stay on the safe side by saying the much-awaited opening of H&M's first branch in the Philippines at the SM Mega Fashion Hall will be "in the third quarter." I guess it really all depends on the speed and progress of the preparations for the maiden store. H&M is indeed opening in the Philippines!
..... but we just don't know when :) Sources said H&M (short for Hennes & Mauritz) has applied with the Board of Investments, an agency under the Department of Trade and Industry. But contrary to speculation, the Swedish clothing retailer is not teaming up with SM Retail Inc. to avoid direct competition with other brands the SM group has already franchised - Forever 21 and Uniqlo.
