The phenomenally delicious J.Co Donuts & Coffee has opened its 12th store in the Philippines and its second spot in the Makati area. Find it in Glorietta 2 facing Fairmont Hotel. At 236 sq.m., it’s certainly spacious and ideal for meeting with friends or simply hanging out – whether indoors or al fresco.
We were there during the opening and along with the other guests, got entertained by the antics of DJ/host Sam YG and athletes Gretchen Ho and Robi Domingo. They engaged everyone in a lively game of tic-tac-toe where the bestselling J.Co Donuts were the stars of the game.
I also bonded with my favorite fellow bloggers Rowena of animetric.me and Michelle of mrs-martinez.com. For being loyal supporters of J.Co Donuts, we got Perk Me Up Passes entitling us to one year’s supply of J.Co Donuts and drinks….. yehaaay!
Am pleased to have seen J.Co Donuts grow – from the time it was first launched to the phenomenal success it is enjoying in less than a year of operation. It seems this donut has captured the Filipino palate because of their tempting gourmet flavors, delicious taste and the fact that it’s not too sweet.
Two weeks ago, J.Co opened their latest branch in Eastwood City. Their largest branch so far is also open 24 hours, solving the problem of those who have to brave the lines during peak hours. Eastwood is the latest addition to the growing chain of J.Co donuts branches in the Philippines which now include SM Megamall, SM Mall of Asia, Greenbelt 2, Alabang Town Center, SM Fairview and Trinoma Mall.
We were thrilled to be part of the J.Co experience yesterday as the donut brand opened its first flagship store at The Strip in Megamall Bldg B. The store was filled to the brim with celebrities and guests. Oh-so-delicious donuts were generously distributed for everyone to try, with matching drinks to boot.
Our verdict: this coffeeshop chain which originated in Indonesia is sure to be a hit in dessert-crazy Manila. Particularly as they also have yogurt with different kinds of toppings and the widest assortment of beverages… both hot and cold. Oooh la la!
Don’t ever think of dieting. J.CO’s J.Club Cheezy Rich Donut Sandwich is my recommended must-try snack this season. Think of our rich local ensaymada combined with donut and further enclosed in the middle with a slice of cheese. It’s enough to keep you full and satiated for a couple of hours at only P45.
J.Co Donuts have quirky names and this one is called Mona Pisa. It’s a savory donut with sliced bits of sausage and yes, more cheese. I used to think that donuts were just desserts and this combination floored me (because I haven’t even tried the donut burger from Offbeat yet). The combination of salty and sweet is just perfect.
Doughnut lovers: mark March 15 on your calendars as the first branch of J.CO Donuts and Coffee opens in the Philippines at The Strip in SM Megamall.
We had our first taste of the donuts via home delivery and I must say I really like the variety of the flavors they offer. My favorites are green tea, choco caviar, cheese and Al Capone which is a donut sprinkled with lots of almonds. Yum! and I can’t wait to try their yogurt and coffee.
