Tune Hotel. I'll try staying at Tunehotels.com the next time I am in KL because it's cheap, and the fact that its sister-company is Air Asia could only mean it's very very cheap :D The adverts say one can get a room for as low as 10 ringgit (which translates to roughly P130 pesos or a little more than $2) That's certainly not bad for 20 hours of stay if you're backpacking or travelling on a budget. The hotel concept i something that's not been explored much actually, and it borrows from Air Asia's premise of being a "no-frills" facility. Browsing ... Continue Reading...
Friendster vs. Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn etc.
Fix.jpg. It's official: Friendster is so 2003. It's like living in a time warp with all the jologs people in the universe :D I realized this while having lunch with my brother last Saturday. I asked him to tell my niece (his daughter) why she hasn't accepted my Friend Request, pending for the longest time. He tells him she's hanging out in MySpace. It has been a long time since I've taken a serious jab at the dating sites and all these social networking things. I don't have a dime of a time to spare in the world and am not necessarily looking. iPhone arrives in Intramuros
Iphone in RP. The trailblazing Manila Bulletin Technews lab in Intramuros is officially now the first publication in the Philippines to get hold of the much-vaunted Apple iPhone. I am also excited to be one of the first to test-drive this wonder after my editor promised to lend it to me soon after he's finished reviewing it. Something like next week ora mismo, hehe :P While I would have liked to review the ballyhooed iPhone, it would have put too much pressure and intimidated the hell out of me. Secondly, am not a Mac user. I am curious to find out ... Continue Reading...
Only in the Philippines: electric jeepneys invade Makati
Ejeepneys-raprios-3. Jeepneys are those colorfully-designed vehicles unique to the Philippines. Manila would not be Manila without this mode of public transport which stop, and pick up, passengers without a warning at every intersection. Their drivers are sometimes obnoxious and oblivious to the law, but even then, jeepneys have become icons in themselves, a sturdy symbol about living in the Philippines. Just when we thought they were in danger of being phased out, comes now the jeepney's latest evolution. The newest jeepney does not only blare loud ... Continue Reading...
