honeybanana-wthsyrup Originally uploaded by annalyn. I wanted so much to join the monthly food blogging event Sugar High Friday sponsored this July by Nicki over at Bakingsheet with the theme revolving around that sweetest of ingredients "Honey." So what's a harrassed mom like me with little time gotta do? I had no choice but to do a no-sweat but definitely yummy recipe for Honey Banana Pancakes. Who can resist a good pancake for breakfast? What I like about this dish is that it's easy to prepare and very versatile too! Aside from the usual syrup and ... Continue Reading...
The Kimchi Connection
Kimchi & Crispy PataOriginally uploaded by annalyn. Its smell is pungent and the taste is quite indescribable but I have a newfound love affair with... kimchi.I don't know how this came to be, I even saw Korean tourists eating the stuff for breakfast in Boracay last year and said "yikes!"Now it seems I have acquired the taste for it and can even eat it at 1 a.m. (while on the early morning shift, of course). Kimchi with crispy pata/ deep-fried pork knuckles (see picture) - yum! Kimchi with adobo and garlic rice - yummy!Of course it helps that my present job deals ... Continue Reading...

Candied YamsOriginally uploaded by annalyn. My busy schedule these days has made me give up all hopes of going through another round of baking experiments. But still I wanted to join the monthly food blogging event, Sugar High Friday #8, hosted by Alice of My Adventures in the Breadbox. Fab places: Mt. Malarayat & Westin’s Poolside BBQ
Malarayat PoolOriginally uploaded by annalyn. Mother's Day found me chilling out with the kids at the sprawling Mt. Malarayat Golf & Country Club in Lipa City. I've heard positive comments about this place from some friends and so I was glad to experience it first hand. I was happy to find out they have the facilities to beat the summer blues away such as swimming pools, a 27-hole golf course and separate country clubs for kids and adults. The landscape was also breathtaking. The best part I think was staying at their newly established hotel which was built in time for ... Continue Reading...
A Culinary Encore: Li Li & M Cafe
Lily - LoungeOriginally uploaded by annalyn. Maybe I have been eating too much of Ministop's fried wonton or Chowking's chicken lauriat, or maybe it was just the elegant surroundings that took my breath away - but my verdict is that the new Li Li Cantonese Restaurant of Hyatt Hotel & Casino Manila has got one of the best Chinese food I've tasted in recent times.Of course it helped that Li Li is fine dining all the way. The chinaware and tableware are exquisite. And if you happen to book one of the private rooms, you can adjust the temperature and the lights, as well as ... Continue Reading...
