The unstable weather the past few weeks has not been good to everyone, and people I know have either been sick or simply not feeling well. The same is true in my household where my children and I have been fighting colds, cough and body pains. Good thing I spotted this thing in the grocery shelves: Roots Ginger Brew, the new salabat.
It’s refreshing to say the least. This drink is made of 100 per cent real ginger (so they say). The ginger taste is not really so noticeable, maybe because some people hate its strong taste. The drink is touted to cure sore throat. Apparently, the ginger in Roots undergoes a brewing process, and the brewing releases key components which promote good digestion and heals itchy throat. I have to admit gulping on this drink while feeling under the weather made me feel less depressed about things. You know how being sick is.
Retailing for only P21 for every 330 ml, this is now the most affordable commercial ginger drink I can find. Imported ginger ales from Australia (where this drink is popular) can cost three to four times more. It is also a good anti-oxidant and a healthier alternative to the common soft drinks with lots of sugar.
Roots Ginger Brew is endorsed by no less than popular online personality Bogart The Explorer. Get one today! Go to www.facebook.com/rootsgingerbrew for more details 🙂

Can it be refrigerated? I like drinking ginger root extracts especially when I have hoarse voice.
Anyway I am glad to see Bogart the Explorer as a guest for the event. Hope to join in but another event came in.
Can it be bought in 711 or ministop or limited stores only? Thank you
will have to try this soon 🙂
This drink is so affordable! DH loves ginger ale. I have to get him one ; p

Hi Paolo. Yes it can be taken while at room temperature or refrigerated to make it more refreshing. As far as I know this one is already available in the stores…. saw it in Puregold last.
Sayang wala ka sa event. We won lots of prizes! XD
Try it…. highly recommended. And uber affordable too 🙂
Have fun buying Mrs. Martinez. Am sure it’s now available in most stores since the product has been launched!:)
Thanks for the recommendation Aj! I would definitely try this!
Interesting..I wonder if this would go well with Bibinka and puto-bumbong 🙂
Sounds worth trying! Is it available at Shopwise, my one and only supermarket? haha
LOVE THIS!
Love the strong hint of salabat…
would love to try this with Stolichnaya!
Try it…very affordable too. It’s the hottest drink in the market today! 🙂
Wow, gusto ko yan. Healthy! Thanks for sharing!
Cookie, pwede! 😀 you can drink it alone, by itself, and it is also a good accompaniment for any type of food…. 🙂
Chats, it’s now available in most supermarkets & stores. Shopwise ka pala…. ang dami mo sigurong points! hehehe
will try this soon.. hope available na sa waltermart
Check it out dear..it’s now available in most stores since product has been launched 🙂
I missed this event since I wasn’t in Manila that time, but yeah. I love Roots 🙂 My mom usually get it from Unimart 🙂
tastes great! Buy more mom. :)) My friends actually thought it was an alcoholic beverage before I told them it was a ginger-based drink. 😀
I was able to try this when we went to masangkay street to visit a friend. I think it was in a Chinese grocery.
It tastes good, though the tang of Roots Ginger Brew tastes stronger than that of Marks and Spencer’s ginger beer. It’s a healthy alternative to colas and other sodas. Good that it’s now available in many supermarkets.:)
I love ginger brew. It’s one of the stuff that I look for at Duty Free Philippines whenever I have a chance to shop there. Teka, ma-try nga heto. 🙂
Try it Snow. You don’t even have to go to Duty Free…it’s now available in most stores…:)
I agree May. Drink this instead of cola 🙂
Roots + Stolichnaya…a combination I still have to discover. Most likely awesome! 😀
@ Paolo, no need to shy away from this, eh? it’s not alcohol 🙂
@May, for sure M & S is more expensive than this one. so is Bundaberg 🙂
Ginger has lots of health benefits, will try it pag uwi namin
Wow! So this has no alcohol or whatever fermented thing? I’d love to try this here in Cebu. I’ve been farting the whole day so might want to look for this in the convenience stores.
Better than the ginger tea at The Spa? I have to try this! Didn’t know it was locally manufactured. Been seeing this on Instagram and thought it was imported. Haven’t seen this at Trinoma. Baka sa SM meron. 😉
Hi Karla. Ganda ng presentation di ba? It should be available at your nearest convenience store
Haven’t tried ginger brew but I think this is a lot healthier than the regular soda. Bogart the explorer is really funny.
Hmmm I haven’t seen one yet. Will check it out next time I buy My groceries, I’m into fruit juices now I’m cutting my soft drinks intake. I’m trying to lose weight, this would be a great help. Thanks for this! 😉
Yep. This is also a good anti-oxidant = the fountain of youth! 🙂
This is a good soda or juice alternative. If you want to veer away from the usual 😉
Folks back home have tried ginger brews in diff’rent forms from the ready made candy bits, powdered and sweetened version and even those that aged (ginger) for about a year or two and then convert it to an instant hot ginger brew. With the cold version, my kid will have agood time humming her notes! 🙂
sounds good, will try this soon
Wow! i want to try this one :)… mukhang masarap pamatid uhaw 🙂
Will definitely try this drink, it’s good for our health. Helpful and informative article AJ 🙂
I bought and tried this one from S&R a while and loved it! But it was too expensive to buy regularly. Good that it is now available in regular supermarkets at a much lower price. Great news for me and my son, who also loves ginger ale.
I love the fact that it is non-alcoholic and it’s healthy|!
Does this contain preservatives? Ginger ale is a healthy drink but preservatives is something parents of children with diet restrictions should avoid. I hope you can advise me.
Another way to enjoy the health benefits of ginger!
Id like to try that one of these days!
I agree. Other ginger ale brands are more expensive… about three times higher
yes. for me, it’s best served chilled 🙂
Yes, this one has low calories & healthy too coz it aids digestion
ang galing ni bogart. am sure he can spread the word in his travels around the Philippines 🙂
Karla, haha. Ang ganda kasi ng packaging. Am not sure if this is brewed in Australia & distributed locally. It seems too good for the price
LOVE THIS! ^_^ I hope they’ll make it available to all supermarket & groceries. This is waaaay better than sodas out there! People are now looking for healthier beverage alternatives. This will surely dominate the market soon, might even beat the bottled green tea, this is more Filipino kasi and not to mention very refreshing! with a twist.
Is that the same as Cali?
