Hanging out in coffee shops all day can be detrimental to your wallet, that's for sure. Just imagine how consuming espresso-laden concoctions can translate to money in one year. Perhaps it can already bring you to Europe or graduate school or even buy those investment trust funds :) The wise ones would do better to invest in a nifty device like the all-new Nescafe Red Mug Machine. It's introductory price of only P1,999 is just the equivalent of about 3 weeks of loading up on your favorite latte or Americano in the coffee shop. This official photo from Nescafe ... Frank & Dean, Forbes Town Center BGC
I've been loving hanging out in Frank & Dean (or Frank X Dean) lately. The ambiance is cool and I super love the service. I don't have the words 'blogger' written on my forehead but I just dig how they let me power my gadgets for free and one time they event lent a charger for my Samsung phone. How many establishments can actually do that? Regardless of the food or the pricing, good service really racks up points in a customer's memory. So I figure that if I were a full-time digital nomad, I'd be hanging out in Frank & Dean all day. Except that I'll totally fatten ... Continue Reading...
Kitchen 1B organic resto at KL Tower
By this time, I've eaten in a number of health-oriented restaurants in Manila and I've come to the conclusion that organic resto also equals 'expensive'. Kitchen 1B is no exception but it was a given to eat here since it's on the ground floor of KL Tower. (Tip: try booking in-house by calling the hotel since they bundle the rooms with a free breakfast package at Kitchen 1B. We didn't get ours since it wasn't on offer in Agoda). The resto was very spacious, a place you won't be ashamed to bring your loved ones or friends. It had an open shelving, open kitchen ... Continue Reading...
KL Tower Serviced Residences in Makati : a review
Warning: more Legaspi Village, Makati posts ahead. I've been loving this area since its relatively quiet streets (on weekends especially) present a less frenetic side to Manila's financial district. I get to think how lucky are some friends to live here. But since some of us can't be in this center of town, a savvy way is to live like a Makati local by checking into a hotel, even for just the weekend. That's what we exactly did at the height of typhoon Lando. The KL Tower on Gamboa St. Legaspi Village is actually a residential condominium but several floors are ... Continue Reading...
Weeknight hangout : Red Dot Japanese bistro in Legazpi Village, Makati
It was a Friday, and my good friend Jaye invited me to this nice, cozy bar in Legazpi Village, Makati offering excellent Japanese food. She called it 'Sugi without the price tag.' Now, God only knows my social calendar is brimming full for the rest of the week and one good way I can drag my heels to a place without hesitation is.... if I haven't tried it or eaten there before! :) So off we met in Red Dot and I was surprised that the bar was packed full of people that night. Here's a photo of the interiors without the crowd.... It turns out Red Dot is the ... Continue Reading...
