A computer keyboard is perhaps ignored by most as just one of those things that keeps a PC running. But am actually the type who's picky about it, crazy in a way that I expect it to behave like a human... tactile, responsive and compatible with my fingers. How do I know? I just know it by feel when I touch it and type on it for the first time :) These days you can probably get some cheapo USB keyboard from places like CDR King (that's where I got my spare one the last time). But I couldn't resist the Logitech Wireless Touch Keyboard k400r when it was offered to me ... Continue Reading...
Gundam docks at Hong Kong!
More of HK: after the rubber ducky, there is a 'Gundam docks at Hong Kong!' exhibit ongoing at Times Square in Causeway Bay until Sept. 1. This is one to delight the kids, the young at heart and of course the countless fans of the Gundam series from all over. Are you? Char's Zaku towers at something like 23 feet. RX-78-2, also approximately 23 feet, just outside of Lane Crawford. It's the largest ever found outside of Japan where the biggest 59-foot model could be found. ... Continue Reading...
In HK: dining on the 102nd floor at Tosca
From Ozone on the 118th floor, I pressed the elevator button to the 102nd floor and felt the tingling in my ears from the change in pressure. It was like a Taipei 101 moment all over again. And I was thinking: for all the excellent food now surrounding Manila, skyscraper (not just high-rise) dining is what's missing in our city. But it should definitely come true in the future. Tosca on the 102nd floor of The Ritz-Carlton is named after the well-known opera by Giacomo Puccini. The resto's decor theme is Romanesque with its high ceilings, stately chandeliers, ... Ozone : Asia’s highest bar on 118F, Ritz-Carlton
I spent the July 27 weekend in Hong Kong and it was quite memorable. First, because it was my newly-minted Samsung Galaxy Mega's baptism of fire. Was certainly glad to be using the phone's 6.3 inch super clear LCD screen to capture these stunning views of the HK skyline, Victoria Harbour and outlying islands. It all felt suureal from my outdoor balcony seat at Ozone, Asia's highest bar on the 118th floor of The Ritz-Carlton (at.mosphere at the Burj Khalifa in Dubai is at 122F). Hong Kong's skyscrapers looked like tiny parts of a giant chess set. And whether ... Continue Reading...
Aquaria in Playa Calatagan, Batangas
After a relaxing stay in Punta Fuego, the family motored to the neighboring town of Calatagan - about 45 minutes away - to have some fun in AQUARIA. It's primarily a water park (about 1.2 hectares) that's part of the Playa Calatagan Leisure Tourism Estate. The estate has the beach all around it and will soon be home to a cluster of seaside condominium developments. As far as I know, Aquaria is the first venture of Landco Pacific Corp. that's open to the public. Landco has so far specialized only in high-end developments like Punta Fuego, Leisure Farms in ...
