I consider pritchon or piniritong lechon one of the savviest Pinoy food inventions ever. Sure it takes off from wrapped roasted Peking duck, but I bet the taste of roast suckling pig with its tender fat melting into the mouth is more heavenly. There was a time when pritchon was all the rage in Manila parties. Gourmet chefs invented all kinds of tasty sauces to go with the dish and eating pritchon can be one of the most interactive foodie experiences around. The craze has somewhat died down but am glad there are still select places you can go to when the pritchon ... Continue Reading...
You know you’re a Facebook addict if ….
1. Your everyday conversations with friends are peppered with references to Facebook, as in: " wow! Couple X broke up already? I saw it in her status update." 2. Facebook is blocked in your office so you bring your own laptop with your own broadband connection. 3. You use Facebook Mobile. You surf Facebook even on your phone and when you feel the urge to, which is OFTEN. 4. You derive immense pleasure in showing off your old photos to everyone on your friends' list, even if your ancestors will rise from the grave it takes 12 hours for you to scan them. 5. ... Ascott Makati and its Cafe on the 6th
Ascott Makati (formerly Oakwood Premier) is an oasis in the urban jungle that is the Makati CBD (Central Business District). What makes it ideal is that it is just beside the Glorietta 4 mall. Since not all of us are expats and executives who can afford the expensive long stays at the Ascott, I was pleased to find out that their coffeeshop called Cafe on the 6th is perfect for cozy meetings and leisurely lunches with friends. The prices aren't bad either. It should be a good alternative for when you've had your fill of all the mall restos or tired of the often-crowded ... Continue Reading...

The results of the October 2009 board exams given by the Board of Accountancy is out and am glad that the daughter of a friend who studied in one of Manila's leading universities was one of those who passed. Passing rate was 41.68% which means there were still more who failed than passed this tough exam :( Congratulations to the country's new batch of accountants! Without a doubt, this remains one of the exacting and demanding professions there is and they deserve to be taken care of. Businesses wouldn't be running soundly and anomalies wouldn't be uncovered ... Continue Reading...
The real Facebook home
It goes with the success. The queen of social networks, Facebook, has just moved to their new headquarters in Palo Alto, California and we can't help but salivate. Dig the bike and the Eames chairs (via Dezeen.com) The design, done by San Francisco-based Studio O+A, is cool, hip, and reminds almost everyone of the equally freewheeling atmosphere at Google. The walls have in fact been laid bare so the 700 or so employees housed in the building can freely post artworks and even write graffiti on them. ... Continue Reading...
