April 1, 2005 ·

Am I right in saying that you are as excited as I am with the buzz being created by the arrival of the so-called "budget airlines?" My excitement shot to the roof when Air Asia finally ran a full-page colored ad in a newspaper today announcing their fares to KL and Kota Kinabalu complete with the flight sked, shuttle bus timetable going to Clark, website and accredited travel agents. From P1949 one way to KL is good enough, considering that this fare won't even get me to Cebu on PAL.So I started calling the nine travel agents listed in the ad to know what the real score ... Europe is now but a dream

March 31, 2005 ·

aj4A, originally uploaded by ajay1. The pioneering e-zine by Pinoy expats is now running a previously-published article of mine entitled Notes from a Homesick Croupier in Europe. It's a must-read for my friends who want to know about that part of my past and who would like to have an idea about how it is to be alone in a foreign land.. for the first time. It was enlightening to know that the field is not only dominated by the geeks or techies (collectivelly called the technogeeks) but also grandmoms, housewives, teenagers and the like. And the clincher is that the first person to have blogged in this country was a ... Continue Reading...

When my kids are in the house, they are an unusually noisy bunch. However, there's one activity when they huddle together in intense concentration and see what busy mom is doing: Baking Time!Yes indeed, it was time once again to bring out the baking pans, measuring spoons and cups for the monthly Is My Blog Burning foodfest showcased by fellow foodies from all over the world. This time around, the monthly event is hosted by Maki of i was just really very hungry and revolved around a theme I love the most: muffins and/or cupcakes.I dig this because cupcakes are easy to ... grfx by Polo, originally uploaded by ajay1.The second installment of my newspaper column on blogs is now online and am glad the oh-so-popular Sassy Lawyer has helped me spread the word by mentioning about it in her blog. The Philippine blog scene is exciting and so rich with materials that I shouldn't have a problem looking for suitable content in the next months or so.In the meantime, next week's discussion on "How Blogging Started in the Philippines" should be an interesting one.
