Blog-O-Rama column 10/01/07

October 1, 2007 ·

My Manila Bulletin column this Monday dealt with my just-concluded talk in the 14th National PR Congress. Some of the quotable quotes which you are free to agree or disagree with: "I just happen to think that rather than shy away from each other, bloggers and PRs can exist harmoniously together: PRs can benefit from the wealth of information that competent bloggers specialize in and bloggers, in turn, can gain a thing or two from the promotional and advertising opportunities that publicists offer in behalf of their clients, something which (bloggers) are now using ... The past week: plugs and pictures

August 7, 2007 ·

Too tired & knackered to blog. While I try to get back to regular programming, kindly allow me to post the following plugs and pictures: Melo Villareal's Lakbay Pilipinas blog is giving some readers a chance to win a limited edition free copy of Jessica Zafra's Twisted Travels. The rules are simple: Just comment on the post, blog about it, Stumble it!, and/or contribute at least two articles to the blog. Why am I doing this? Because I want my copy too! :P Thanks in advance Melo:) Zee has clued me in on this interesting contest by Nestle Philippines on how Nescafe ... Continue Reading...

Is blogging bad for our health?

June 19, 2007 ·

Anton over at Our Awesome Planet already intimated in one post how he gained 40 lbs. (!!) just from blogging about the hottest new restaurants and places in the metro. Somehow, I couldn't help but share in the observation, knowing how I've terribly lagged in gym time the past few months. The pilosopo in me attribute my failure to go to the gym to two things: 1) weather is unreasonably hot! why work up a sweat when being at home is like taking the treadmill/being in a sauna already? 2) blogging is addicting; blogging ties me up to the computer for hours on ... Meeting a blog reader from Switzerland

May 7, 2007 ·

with Marissa. Blogging can be a lonely avocation. But it can be immensely rewarding when you get feedbacks from people and then meeting those who claim to (ahermm) fanatically read your blog. For a blogger like moi, this is heartwarming because it means am not just talking to the wall. I am glad that my online persona strikes some as nice and approachable (because this is how I am too, in real life) and it means a lot when readers-turned-friends take the time to email and meet me, especially when they come from other countries and only visiting the ... Go ahead amuse me: an email that throws me off kilter

September 27, 2006 ·

One thing about being a blogger and being Google-able is that you get all sorts of comments and feedbacks. For example, I woke up early this morning to find an interesting email in my inbox (where else?) It's the owner of "a start-up web design and development company" in Hawaii who was recruiting me as a web copywriter. The offer seems good since it is "work-from-home" with a promise to be relocated overseas, if all goes well, and of course I presume one will also be paid in $$$$. It would have been one of those garden variety emails if not for the fact that the ... Continue Reading...
