The forthcoming HSBC anniversary fun run on November 26, 2011 at the SM Mall of Asia grounds is the second run I am joining this year and am excited! Aside from running itself, it will be a good exercise in people-watching as some of Manila's who's who in different fields are also participating. Run organizers led by HSBC are bringing the event to a good start by unveiling last week the elegant race singlet designed by no less than Ms. Josie Natori. It features a distinctively stylized Japanese character which is inspired by the international label's latest ... Continue Reading...
Suzuki Alto K10 launched: tops in fuel efficiency
I've been meaning to attend a motoring event and finally found the time for one: the launch of the Suzuki Alto K10, the newest version of the popular compact car model. This baby with an engine displacement of only 1.0 liter, is recognized as one of the most fuel efficient cars around and is intended for people who are buying cars for the first time. Retail price is only P439,000 and comes in the following colors: Silky Silver, Dazzling Red and Sunlight Copper Metallic. I wish I can test drive this car or maybe own it :) So many power specs, it seems, in such ... Continue Reading...
3D fashion show by Ariel & Bench at Microtel Mall of Asia
Manila has been busy these days with the Philippine Fashion Week and outside of the shows was a unique event worth going to: the first outdoor 3D Projection Mapping Fashion Show organized by Ariel to launch its newest product, the 3D Deep Clean. "Where are the models?" I asked as I arrived late for the show, and then somebody from Campaigns & Grey told me not to worry because there's a replay a few minutes later.Turns out there were no actual models because their images were already pre-recorded and projected on a dazzling video screen that was the height of the ... Discovery Shores Boracay : a review
It has been my dream to go to Boracay and stay at the Discovery Shores.Mostly because am curious about this resort which has been garnering all these acclaim from independent travellers, the latest of which is being on the Top 100 Hotels in the World from Travel+Leisure. We were able to get a discounted rate of $220 a night from a travel agent, still not cheap but cheaper when compared to Amanpulo or Shang-ri La Boracay. After staying in Discovery Shores for a couple of days, I now know the reason. Being in a paradise like Boracay makes it already dream-like as it ... Continue Reading...
Hotel H20 Manila : a review
Life has returned to normal in Roxas Boulevard after Typhoon Pedring, and especially when you're billeted in Manila Ocean Park's Hotel H20! H20 prides itself for being the first aquarium-themed hotel in the Philippines. Service is still rather raw coming from the mostly neophyte staff but there's no doubt in my mind that this is one of the best hotels to stay in town right now. The first reason being its sheer newness. Its other asset is its natural scenery and being closest to the bay. Having wall-to-wall aquarium in your room or a view of the serene waters? Take ...
