The Lonely Girl’s Guide to Valentine’s Day

February 11, 2006 ·

Hello Kotex Originally uploaded by annalyn. 1. Don't wear red. Wear violet. 2. Do not spray on perfume. Spritz on alcohol. 3. Hug your dog/cat. They are more lovable than the jerk who's dumped/been ignoring you for ages. 4. Think that it's not Valentine's Day. Think that it's only the birthday of Kris Aquino 5. Try the time-tested "buy yourself flowers." ... Continue Reading...

BlogCharm & Getting Paid To Blog

February 10, 2006 ·

Comments are back to normal after I heard from some friends that it's a pain to register before they can comment. Oh well, let all the spam come in! Tokayo Anna Lyn of Lysne has clued me in on the birth of BlogCharm which prides itself as the site where "members get paid to blog." It's an interesting profit-sharing scheme which should gain the support of tons of bloggers when it launches by March 1. The Day-Off Chef: Sukiyaki Con Pinoy (updated)

February 8, 2006 ·

Sukiyaki Daaaarn...with the 12% EVAT, dining out seems more of a pain than the joy it used to be. So if you tell me that there's a new place in town that's worth checking out, I am not gonna relate... unless you're picking up the tab.The one good thing that came out of higher taxes is that we get more motivated to try out new dishes at home in order to spare our wallet the agony, hence the advent of my dish for today, good ol' sukiyaki. ... Lunacy is a two-way street

February 7, 2006 ·

This week's edition of Blog-O-Rama features the wacky dudes behind The Man Blog. I know, the phrase "The Man Blog" is too generic for something that is wickedly funny, it hurts. With their exhibitionist tendencies, it's pretty obvious that those TMB guys are destined for world abomination domination and the interview I've had with them was the breeziest since Hanabishi finetuned the electric fan. Here's how the whole thing went: ... Continue Reading...

Paraphrasing Steve Pavlina

February 5, 2006 ·

Yer right, I've succumbed to the temptation of being a blog whore by putting Google Adsense right where your eyes are supposed to read my posts. Sorry for the incovenience. It's not only a desperate bid to offset my hosting and DSL fees, it's also an experiment at how effective the ads really are for semi-obscure bloggers like me. I still harbor the idea that these ads are a load of crap and will gladly remove them after a few months if they don't perform the function of what they're supposed to do. After all, am blogging because I love to... not because I hope to get ... Continue Reading...
