Condos are being built with the blink of an eye, not just in Manila but in other Philippine cities as well. With structures rising vertically instead of horizontally, living spaces are becoming smaller. Unfortunately, prices are also becoming more expensive with every limited square meter.
Urban dwellers are literally living in a box these days and obviously this calls for smarter space solutions.Until I attended the launch of the ErgoHome showroom at the Mall of Asia recently, I never thought that you can magically transform your condo unit by having the kind of furniture that folds or hides itself away until needed. It’s amazing to say the least!
ErgoHome’s dapper GM Tim Ng showed to us a bed that looks like a closet from the outside.
The bed has a sturdy folding mechanism and all one has to do is to pull a handle to expand it into one’s sleeping quarters.
Another variation…. depending on material used, price is approximately P75,000 for this one.
The Tatami Room is the showroom’s flagship display. All of 14 sq.m., this space is already fitted out with a bed, dining area, storage, table and shelves!
The table rises from the floor with the push of a remote control button…
The wooden panels acting as flooring-cum-storage are opened with a vacuum pulling mechanism that is sort of magnetized.
It was really impressive. I thought the children’s room display was the most conventional of all.
ErgoHome offers the following services for its clients: free delivery installation as well as free professional consultation and 3D model design. The latter is to help customers visualize their customized furniture before it’s actually made.
Ergo Home has showrooms at the SM Mall of Asia ( tel. no.+632 831-4110), SM Megamall, SM Cebu, SM Davao and soon, SM Aura.
