A few weeks ago, I was glad to discover and explore Jinjiang Inn - the newest hotel chain to conquer Manila's fast-growing tourism scene. Jinjiang Inn happens to be China's largest hospitality conglomerate and this brand has been franchised in the Philippines via billionaire Injap Sia's Hotel of Asia Inc. Jinjiang Inn Philippines is positioned to be a business hotel where the location and in-room amenities are both meant to be ultra-convenient.I've had the pleasure of being a sponsored guest at Jinjiang Inn Ortigas and a paying customer at Jinjiang Inn Makati on ... Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery in Shatin
The 10,000 Buddhas Monastery in Shatin is often overlooked by many tourists to Hong Kong. After all, how many of us will bother riding the East Rail Line all the way up the New Territories? But am telling you it's well worth the visit if you want something out of the ordinary from the hustle and bustle of HK. The entrance is impressive enough. There are approximately 500 golden life-size statues lining the pathway. One couldn't help but be amazed, if not amused, with their different poses and expressions. Prepare to exercise. I regretted not ... Continue Reading...
First timers in Puerto Galera
A few weeks ago I finally summoned the willpower to go to Puerto Galera. This was quite the big deal since I've been to Batanes, Banaue, Palawan, Camiguin, Guimaras and other remote places but not to this verdant tourist spot in Oriental Mindoro. So that Saturday, I hauled off the kids and off we traversed the southern highway till we reached the Port of Batangas. In the pier, I parked the car, purchased tickets for the five of us and off we rode the boat that would take us in an hour or so to Puerto Galera. I was quite nervous about this boat ride since we ... Continue Reading...
Day trip to Sumilon island in Oslob, Cebu
Sumilon is a private island owned by the Bluewater resorts group off Oslob in Cebu. After a surreal whale shark watching experience in the waters of Oslob town proper, most people put a visit to Sumilon on the itinerary, as it is just 20 to 25 minutes away by boat. I must say don't skip going to Sumilon if you're already in Oslob because the sandbar, with its perfect white sand beach, is just so beautiful... Travelers on a budget often just bring food and eat on the boat, before doing some swimming on the beach or just plain sailing. Boat tour operators ... Continue Reading...
