Had a terrible time this morning. At 3 am, I woke up to the sound of heavy, nonstop rains and even heavier thunder. I got up and peered through the kitchen window where I could see that the water level at our gate was non-threatening and went back to sleep. But in 30 minutes, a neighbor's ringing of our doorbell woke me up again. I checked the situation outside the house and panicked that some flood water already entered our garage! A computer keyboard is perhaps ignored by most as just one of those things that keeps a PC running. From Ozone on the 118th floor, I pressed the elevator button to the 102nd floor and felt the tingling in my ears from the change in pressure. It was like a Taipei 101 moment all over again. And I was thinking: for all the excellent food now surrounding Manila, skyscraper (not just high-rise) dining is what's missing in our city. But it should definitely come true in the future.
